Celebrity Hairstylist Chris Rodil Has Passed Away

The fashion industry lost one of its own today.

Celebrity hairstylist Chris Rodil, who frequently collaborated and worked with the likes of Kathryn Bernardo, Sarah Geronimo, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Maja Salvador, and Jane de Leon, has passed away.

Many of the stars’ fans — as well as the stars themselves — have paid tribute to him on social media, lauding him for his beautiful creations and for being a trustworthy and lifelong friend to his clients. His colleagues also paid tribute to him, all expressing their sadness and how much they will miss him.

"I love you so much," Kathryn said in a heartfelt post. "Kulang team kung wala ka... I will miss you, our Rodil," she added in the caption, accompanying several photos of them together on shoots and at events. 

Regine, like many of Chris' colleagues, had been shocked to hear the news. She will miss him very much, she says.

Barbie Imperial, who also worked with Chris a lot, also shared the sad news on her Instagram page. "We will miss you, Missy," she said. "We will miss your kakulitan, how you make all of us laugh. Sobra. We are so thankful for all the fun times we shared together. Mahal ka namin, Missy!"

Stylist Myrrh Lao To also paid tribute to Chris, sharing photos from the last shoot they did together. "Tawa lang tayo ng tawa as always, Missy," he said.

Jolina Magdangal also dedicated a post to him, thanking him for the friendship. "Thank you for being a sweet and caring friend," she said. 

Karla Estrada, who shares a birthday with Chris, also sent out a heartbroken message. "Paalam kaibigan," she said. "Maraming salamat sa masasayang alaala sa loob ng 5 taon. Mahal kita alam mo yan at mangungulila ako sayo." 

Celebrity make-up artist Denise Ochoa thanks Chris for all the beautiful memories, adding that she will miss him terribly. "A day with you is always a day of laughter and you make sure we part ways with me laughing and smiling," she said. 

Iza Calzado reminisced about all the times she worked with Chris. "Sobrang proud ko sayo," Iza said. "Sana alam mo 'yun."
