Exclusive Details Of Isabelle Duterte’s Lavish Debut And Her Various Looks For The Night
The events leading to the debut of Isabelle Duterte—President Rodrigo Duterte’s granddaughter with son Paolo (who resigned from his post as Davao City vice mayor last year) and Lovelie Sangkola Sumera—were done on a lavish scale.
Her pre-debut photoshoot in Malacañang, albeit being controversial, was every inch opulent. She had three outfit changes: an intricately embellished red sweetheart neckline ball gown with train and arm straps by Garimon Roferos Couture, a pink dainty A-line dress by Rosenthal Tee, and a sophisticated floral cold-shoulder dress. With her grandiose looks for that shoot, it was expected that the rest of the details for her birthday celebration would meet the same high standard.
True enough, the lavishness of it all didn’t end there. As if a photoshoot in Malacañang wasn’t enough, Isabelle even flew to Australia to do a teaser video as well as a photoshoot on the side, wearing more elegant outfits—a black floral dress and a blue-and-green gown both by Garimon Roferos and a black printed asymmetrical outfit by Edgar Buyan.
Yesterday, Isabelle’s big birthday celebration finally happened at the Peninsula Manila Hotel, which was dressed up by popular event stylist Robert Blancaflor. To say that it was extremely luxurious would be an understatement. From the venue to the debutante’s outfits to the souvenirs and special prizes (Hermès goodies for the best-dressed guests!), it was indeed every girl’s dream celebration.
Isabelle wore not one but five outfits for the special occasion! She worked with fashion stylist, Jeff Galang, who also styled her for her pre-debut shoot in Malacañang. Here, he shared with Metro.Style some details of her looks.

While getting ready for the party, she was glammed up by makeup artist Winn Ramos and hairstylist Allan Vicentico clad in a pink silky robe with laced edges, pleats, ruffles, and tulle details by custom boudoir bridalwear brand La Tercera; it’s so luxe it is not your typical plain and simple getting-ready robe.
For her makeup, Winn used a subtle shade of pink eyeshadow, to keep her look youthful and feminine. He shared with Metro.Style the products he used to achieve her look: RMK liquid foundation, MAC and Kat Von D for shading and contour, Bobbi Brown and Huda for eyeshadow, Sleek Makeup for highlights, Viseart for eye liner, Giorgio Armani for lipstick, and Japanese brand Shatona for blush.
Isabelle was later seen wearing a floral piece by Michael Leyva for a photoshoot with Lito Sy.
Then came the highlight of the night. Isabelle entered the ballroom in her lavishly designed cobalt blue ombré off-shoulder ball gown by well-renowned Pinoy Dubai-based fashion designer Michael Cinco. Jeff shared that Isabelle didn’t have any other designer in mind for her main gown. “It was a collaboration between Michael, Belle, and me. We drew inspiration from Michael’s Cinderella gown truly fit for a princess,” he added.
As part of the program, she did a Broadway-inspired production number, and to match the concept, Jeff had a three-piece white tuxedo from Orias Studios custom-made. The ensemble stood out as she performed along with dancers dressed in black.
For the after-party, Isabelle changed into a romantic silver dress by Joe San Antonio with a hint of sexiness, what with that thigh-high slit.
To complement each outfit, Jeff had three pairs of heels custom-made by Jefferson Si. "Isabelle requested for shoes that would last the entire night," he says, adding that working with Isabelle was such a "breeze." "She's a sweet girl."
Isabelle worked with other top suppliers to make her dream debut come true: Rita Neri and her team of event planners and coordinators, Penk Ching for her towering cake, and music courtesy of the Manila Philharmonic Ochestra.
