Victoria’s Secret Angel Jasmine Tookes Marries Snapchat Exec Juan David Borrero
The supermodel wore a breathtakingly beautiful, custom bridal ensemble by Zuhair Murad; it was inspired by Grace Kelly's iconic wedding gown
Jasmine Tookes tied the knot with Juan David Borrero last September 4 in Quito, Ecuador with a dreamy, opulent wedding. “Still can’t believe I’m living in a real life fairytale with you @juandavidborrero,” Jasmine, now officially Mrs. Borrero, shared on Instagram.
This caption was accompanied by photos from their big day, the first in her carousel post features the couple exiting from the church wherein the entrance was decorated with a tall, enchanted garden-esque arch of white roses; this décor lends an elegant contrast to Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco’s (Church and Convent of St. Francis) lavish and ornate gold interior.
In her custom Zuhair Murad bridal gown, the 30-year-old American model and former Victoria’s Secret Angel looked stunningly regal. And that isn’t surprising because her inspiration for her wedding ensemble was, in fact, American actress and Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly’s gown at her wedding to Prince Rainier III in 1956.
Thanking the Lebanese fashion designer on Instagram, Jasmine wrote, “Thank you for making my classic, timeless & beautiful wedding dress come true. It is a piece of art!!”
Jasmine Tookes’ Zuhair Murad wedding gown was meticulously crafted with the brand’s signature handmade embroideries, Duchess silk, Italian tulle, and French lace. The base is a form-fitting, off-white lace dress “distinguished by a high-collared neckline and arm-hugging long sleeves.” For the ceremony, this was layered with a voluminous detachable skirt with sequin- and pearl-embroidered lace, and cinched with a draped waist belt. Making the design even grander and more dramatic were the 15-foot train and the veil!
“I wanted him to make my dress from the moment I walked in his first couture show,” Jasmine told Vogue. Her intricate bridal gown was simply accessorized with diamond earrings from Ritani, her engagement ring, and white heels by Sarah Flint. For her bridal beauty look, Jasmine turned to her go-to hair and makeup team, Leah Pike and Russian Nureev.
The groom looked dapper in his Armani double-breasted tuxedo.
Overall, Jasmine shared in her Vogue interview that she truly enjoyed the whole wedding planning process as it was her secret wish to be an event planner. She worked with Ecuador-based suppliers who turned her vision into reality: wedding planner Carolina Muzo, florists Botania Flower Boutique and David Vasquez Design, and event planner/stylist Fialo Eventi.
The reception that followed was held in a hacienda about 30 minutes away outside of Quito. Talking to Vogue, the bride said their venue, dressed up by Fialo Eventi, was like an “enchanted garden” and a “giant green house” where flowers were cascading from the ceiling.

During the reception, Jasmine took off the voluminous skirt of her gown to reveal her fitted lace dress, and later into the night, she slipped on a halter mini dress by Galvan.
Among her Amsale sage dress-clad bridesmaids was Filipino-American Victoria’s Secret model Kelsey Merritt, who described the event as “the most stunning fairytale wedding I’ve ever been to.” Others who were part of Jasmine’s wedding party were models Sara Sampaio, Shanina Shaik, Rachel Scott, Josephine Skriver, Jocelyn, and Lais Ribeiro.
Jasmine Tookes and Juan David Borrero got engaged in September 2020.
Jasmine is a supermodel who has been featured in many fashion magazines and has walked the runways of brands like Burberry, Versace, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, and Balmain, among many others. Meanwhile, Juan is an executive at Snapchat and is the son of doctor Alfredo Borrero Vega, the current Vice President of Ecuador.
