Celebrity Stylist Kim Yap And Jarvis Sy Had A Fairy Tale-Like Wedding
Celebrity stylist Kim Yap went from bride-to-be to Mrs. Jarvis Sy in a beautiful ceremony held on October 13.
After almost a decade together, this pair tied the knot in front of family and friends in the ultimate gesture of commitment at Santuario de San Jose in Greenhills.
The fashionable bride known for her impeccable style and eye for elegance walked down the aisle in a voluminous Michael Cinco gown featuring a corset bodice, a low back design, Swarovski crystals, an impressive five-meter train, and dainty tulle veil.
Keeping the rest of her look simple to allow her dress (and inner glow!) to take center stage, Kim opted for makeup with feminine highlights: matte pink cheeks, a light berry lip, and classic eyes for a fresh finish; she worked with makeup artist Albert Kurniawan. Likewise, her hair was done in a neat bun and sleek center part, thanks to hairstylist Chris Rodil.
When it came to Jarvis, a white and black Tom Ford suit was his outfit of choice on his special day.
On the other hand, her bridesmaids' looks were clear contrasts to Kim's, yet equally chic. Kathryn Bernardo, Erich Gonzales, designer Patricia Santos, and her sister and fellow stylist Boop Yap were clad in pretty citrine, yellow peridot-hued dresses by Martin Bautista; the color was actually inspired by the shade of the dress Kim wore when Jarvis proposed to her. The unique color was a lovely match to the wedding and reception venue's elegant theme of greens, florals, and a sea of golden lights brought to life by sought-after event stylist, Gideon Hermosa. Guests, who took to Instagram, all felt the same way about the event: it was fairy tale-like.
Delicate blooms of gypsophila (a.k.a. baby's breath) filled the church and appropriately so, as the flower symbolizes lasting love. But the design highlight in the church was definitely the mirrored floor.
Come the reception held at the Manila Marriott Hotel's grand ballroom, Kim and Jarvis made the grandest entrance possible with fireworks and a dancy song to boot, as they made their way down a grand white staircase. Soon afterwards, this wedding saw more and more famous faces arrive.
Doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho, their daughter Scarlet Snow (who was also one of the adorable flower girls), Julia Barretto, Robi Domingo, Alex Gonzaga, Kaye Abad and husband Paul Jake Castillo, basketball star Jeron Teng and his sister Almira, as well as Kris Aquino (who was a ninang) were all in attendance. Also spotted were celebrity makeup artists Denise Go-Ochoa, RB Chanco, and Justine Claudia; hairstylist John Valle; stylists Perry Tabora, Bang Pineda, Sidney Yap, and AJ Alberto; and personal shopper Aimee Hashim.
Well renowned celebrity wedding photographer Pat Dy captured all the beautiful moments that will forever be cherished by the couple and their loved ones. Scroll down to see some exclusive shots Pat shared with Metro.Style.
Kim's guests were then served a five-course dinner followed up by energetic performances and party games—the latter of which are a signature activity at any event organized by the Yap sisters! Moira dela Torre, Jason Dy, and South Border serenaded guests all throughout the night, providing a soundtrack that wasn't just romantic and entertaining, but meaningful to the couple, too.
Kim and Jarvis got engaged in April last year and today, we can't wait to see what's in store for this couple—an addition to the family, perhaps!
