Meet Miss International Queen 2022 Fuschia Anne Ravena

The Filipina beauty queen, who hails from Cebu, bested 22 other candidates during the coronation night of the world's largest transgender pageant in Thailand

Filipina beauty queen Fuschia Anne Ravena was named Miss International Queen 2022 last June 25, as she bested the 22 other beauty candidates during the coronation.

Held in Pattaya, Thailand, the pageant was home to 23 competing countries from the Asian, European, North American, and South American continents. It is labeled by its organizers as the largest beauty pageant for transgender women. Fueled by its mission to spread awareness on transgender rights, the contest was established in 2004 to boost equality.

Hailing from her hometown in Cebu, Philippines, the 27-year-old businesswoman graced the stage with the ultimate goal of inspiring others.

In the Q&A portion, she was asked about the importance of being a transgender beauty icon, and she responded: “To be a transgender queen is to inspire other people and to do good things to everyone, because I always think that the most beautiful assets of being a human and being a trans woman is not just a head that is full of knowledge. It should be the heart that is full of love and respect, an ear that is ready to listen, and a hand that is willing to help other people.”

As she aspires to advocate for the transgender people’s right to positive reception, she acknowledges how acceptance in her own home helped ease her fight for equality. “The acceptance in my own home is the best gift I’ve received throughout my trans journey,” she shared in her introductory speech.

The visual presentation, which visits the lives that the candidates have led, shows a series of clips and photos of Fuschia in her community with family and friends. “To have the people you love the most not only accept and respect your choices in life but also support them in every step of the way, truly helped me to be fully the best version of myself.”

Miss International Queen coincides with the Pride month celebration this June, and was aptly themed as "Pride Together."

Congratulations, Fuschia!
