Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza Looks Back on Her Reign

The reign of Mexico's Andrea Meza is the shortest in Miss Universe history

The reign of Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico is almost over, as the Miss Universe 2021 pageant is all set to happen on December 12 (December 13 in Manila) in Eilat, Israel.

Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza was crowned at the 69th Miss Universe coronation night last May 16 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida in United States. This pageant was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making Andrea's 7-month reign the shortest in Miss Universe's history.

Despite the circumstances, Andrea made the most of her Miss Universe reign, and was able to carry out her role as the reigning queen by doing charity work and traveling to destinations like the United States, South Africa, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, The Bahamas, and Israel.

Andrea hosted the Miss Universe 2021 preliminary competition and national costume alongside American TV personality Carson Kressley. Onstage, the beauty queen briefly talked about her reign: “Being a Miss Universe during this pandemic changed things. It was a very different situation for me, but we knew all the time that it was going to be the shortest reign because of it. However, I tried to make the most of it. I tried to enjoy every single moment. I’m so thankful for having the opportunity to have this experience with the Miss Universe organization. You know, my favorite part was to work with all the charities that as a Miss Universe you get to work with and, you know, realizing that having this position inspires all the women and all the girls around the world. That is, by far, my favorite part of being Miss Universe.”
