In Photos: Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Preliminary Winners
Bohol's representative got four special awards!
The inaugural Miss Universe Philippines 2020 held its preliminary competition yesterday, October 23, at the Baguio Country Club. At the pageant's prelims, the 46 candidates from different cities and provinces in the Philippines participated in one-on-one interviews and vied for the special awards. Their pre-pageant performances will help them secure a spot at Miss Universe Philippines 2020's Top 16 come coronation day tomorrow, October 25, also in Baguio.
The Pinay beauty queens who are part of the preliminaries judging panel are Miss Universe - Philippines 2014 Mary Jean Lastimosa, Miss Universe - Philippines 2010 Maria Venus Raj, and Miss Universe Philippines - 2013 Ariella Arida.
The inaugural Miss Universe Philippines 2020 also partnered with eCommerce platform Lazada Philippines, where fans were invited to vote for their favorite candidates last October 15 to 22. The candidates who received the most votes will automatically earn a spot at the Top 16.
Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados, the country's last Miss Universe representative under Binibining Pilipinas, will crown the new queen. The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 titleholder will wear the "Filipina" crown made with diamond, yellow pearl, sapphire, ruby, and topaz accents.
