One of the #MetroMostStylish2018 cover girls, Anne Curtis also happens to top the #MetroSocietyMostInfluential list, what with her huge collective social media following. This Filipina-Australian beauty started out young in showbiz, with her very first role being in the movie Magic Kingdom as Princess Dahlia back in 1997.
Ever since that year, Anne continued to have TV stints every year, including appearances in TGIS and Anna Karenina on GMA until she moved to ABS-CBN and was given her first big break in 2005 via the TV series Kampanerang Kuba. With the success of that serye, she was tapped for more fantaserye roles in Dyosa and Dyesebel.
Anne’s career boasts a number of hit television shows (Maging Sino Ka Man, Hiram, Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, The Wedding, and Green Rose) and movies (When Love Begins, Baler, Who’s That Girl?, No Other Woman, A Secret Affair, The Gifted, and Blood Ransom).
She has bagged many awards and recognitions for her skill as an actress, and the Filipino audience was drawn to her naturally wacky personality, which she further became known for when she joined the successful variety show It’s Showtime.
Besides acting, Anne also loves singing, and although she is admittedly “Annebisyosa” on this aspect, she released studio albums and even had concerts here and abroad; her first one was the “Annebisyosa: No Other Concert World Tour” in 2012 at The Smart Araneta Coliseum in celebration of her 15th year in showbiz.
After two decades in the entertainment industry, Anne remains as The Country’s Sweetheart, a household name and an idol to many whom people religiously follow on social media. In 2015, she became a celebrity advocate for UNICEF Philippines and even launched a Heroes for Children Run to benefit UNICEF's “1,000 Days of Life” campaign. Outside showbiz, Anne is an entrepreneur who launched her own cosmetics brand, BLK Cosmetics. Since Anne’s Instagram feed has become a source of fashion and beauty inspirations for many of her followers, her social media accounts fueled the popularity of her makeup line.
And speaking of Instagram, one of her greatest moments in the online sphere came last year when she got married to Erwan Heussaff in New Zealand. The whole country tuned in to the wedding, despite happening oceans away, via the Instagram Stories and posts of her celebrity friends who came to witness their union. Her wedding photo with Erwan, overlooking a cliff in New Zealand, set the Philippine’s record for the most liked photo on Instagram as it garnered more than a million likes.
