Check Out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Official Engagement Photographs
To mark and celebrate their recent engagement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did a photoshoot in Frogmore House, Windsor with photographer Alexi Lubomirski.
The Kensington Palace shared two photographs of the lovely couple today, one that's posed and a bit formal and one that's laid-back and candid—pretty much like how Prince William and Kate Middleton approached their engagement shoot with fashion photographer Mario Testino back in 2010.
In the first photo, the couple is seen posing by the steps outside the English country house while holding each other's hands and looking straight to the camera. Prince Harry was handsome and dapper in a blue suit, while his bride-to-be looks radiant in a black see-through dress with gold embroidered details by Ralph and Russo (from the Fall 2017 collection).
The second shot, a beautiful black and white photo, shows the couple all smiles and overflowing with happiness as Prince Harry wraps his Burberry coat around Meghan; in her Victoria Beckham sweater, she, on the other hand, closes her eyes as she lovingly touches his cheek—her engagement ring displayed perfectly!
The location of the photoshoot is reportedly a "very special place" for the couple who has been together for 18 months prior to getting engaged. The couple will tie the knot on May 19 at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Lubomirski, the Polish photographer who took these stunning photos of the newly-engaged royal couple, was an assistant of fashion photographer Mario Testino. He has done shoots for publications such as FACE, Harpers Bazaar US, Harpers Bazaar UK, Vogue Mexico, Vogue Germany, Vogue Russia, Vogue Spain, Vogue Korea, Vogue China, Vogue Nippon, Men’s Vogue China, Numero Tokyo, W Korea, GQ USA and Allure. He also had the privilege of photographing cover stars like Beyoncé, Charlize Theron, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lopez, Selma Hayek, Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and Scarlett Johansson.
Lubomirski took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the opportunity to do this shoot with the royal couple, saying, "A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms Markle, for allowing me to take their official engagement portraits. Not only was it an incredible honour, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took."
