Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Welcome Their Daughter Lilibet
"We were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe," the couple said in their official statement
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just welcomed a baby girl they named Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. Lili is the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and is the little sister of their two-year-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Meghan Markle gave birth at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA.
"Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home," the statement further said.
Lilibet is Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild.
The Royal Family also congratulated the couple, sharing that "The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news."
It was in February of this year, in time for Valentine's Day, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they were expecting their second child and that Archie was going to be a big brother.
The following month, in a (controversial) sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, they revealed that they were expecting a baby girl. Prince Harry said that he feels grateful to be blessed first with a boy and then a girl to make them a family of four. "Having any child, any one or a two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl . . . now we've got our family and we've got four of us," he shared.
This is an even more special time and gift for this family, because in an emotional piece titled "The Losses We Share" published on The New York Times last November, Meghan Markle revealed that she suffered a miscarriage in July of last year.
