9 Things We Love About Quark Henares & Bianca Yuzon's Classic-Rustic, Mini Concert-Like Wedding In Bali

Filmmaker Quark Henares and singer Bianca Yuzon tied the knot over the weekend with a spectacular celebration in Bali, Indonesia that's proving to be a favorite wedding destination.

Hundreds of their relatives and friends went on a welcome escape to this breathtakingly beautiful island to surround the couple with lots of love on their big day. Present during this momentous occasion were Quark's parents Vicki Belo (with husband Hayden Kho and their daughter Scarlet Snow) and Atom Henares (with wife Nathalie), sister Cristalle Belo (with husband Justin Pitt and their son Hunter), Yael Yuzon and Karylle, Iza Calzado and Ben Wintle, Kat Ramnani and Christian Bautista, Paolo Valenciano and Sam GodinezJugs Jugueta and Andie Aguirre, Tim Yap, Glaiza de Castro, Alice Eduardo, Basti Artadi, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, Jun Sabayton, Mich Dulce, among other notable guests in the local art, film, and music scenes.

Quark and Bianca got engaged in April of last year. A few days before their wedding, they released a series of cool and unique pre-nup photos that not only spoke volumes about them as artists but also definitely encapsulated their personality as a couple and the love story that ties them together. "We’re both passionate about film and music. We love to explore new places and eat our way through them at the same time," Bianca shared in an interview with ABS-CBN. Quark added, "We're both artists, but don't really have that artist temperament. In which case it's safe to say that we're both... jolly people.  Oh, and we both have amazing taste in pop culture."

With fun, quirky, and artistic engagement sessions like those, it was expected that these two would go for a wedding celebration that's just as remarkable—they did, and it's absolutely one for the books!

We can't get over the stunning details and epic moments at the #QBcome1 festivities, so here we listed down the things we love about the Bali destination wedding of Quark and Bianca:

1. The wedding zine / invite

Featuring illustrations by artists and husband-and-wife duo CJ de Silva-Ong and Wincy Aquino Ong, the wedding invitation was made to look like a magazine. Wincy said his illustrations of the couple were based on Keka, one of his favorite Pinoy thriller films from the early 2000s. Inside are writeups on their love story and, of course, details about the wedding and their entourage that were creatively laid out by graphic design studio Inksurge. On the cover is an illustration by CJ that shows Quark and Bianca with their fur baby, Sunny Jim, the "art critic and cat."

2. The luxurious Alila Villas as venue

What undoubtedly made the union of these two artistic souls more dramatic was their venue of choice. Sitting atop limestone cliffs 100 metres above the Indian Ocean, Alila Villas in Uluwatu, Bali prides itself in the incredible view of the ocean and the golden sunset that they offer. "Alila" in Sanskrit apparently means "surprise," and that's exactly how Alila Villas makes its guests feel: surprised and in awe at the beauty of nature and its fine architecture. The steps leading to a pool by the cliff served as the aisle, while the awe-inspiring clear blue skies provided the picture-perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony.

3. The couple's and entourage's outfits

The groom wore a classic black and white custom Prada suit. The bride donned a keyhole-sleeved v-neck ivory ball gown with a silky smooth finish, sheer accents, back embellishments, and a train with an intricate pattern; it's a dream wedding gown which Bianca designed herself. Bianca's gorgeous bridal look was completed with a subdued, earthy style of makeup by Raymond Isais that enhanced her morena complexion perfectly and a woven low ponytail hairstyle by New Melati Salon reminiscent of one of Game of Thrones' Daenerys Targaryen's hairstyles; her mane was accessorized with a grecian leaf crown.

Bianca also designed the rest of her gowns for the wedding and the outfits of her bridesmaids, maid of honor, bridesmatrons, and flower girls. "I designed them by body type and personality, because I grew up with all of them," she told Metro.Style. Bianca Cordero created the suits of the groomsmen and the bridesman. Mich Dulce designed the gown of Vicki, Cristalle, and the groomswomen suits.

On the outfits she created for her and groomswoman Kim Marvilla, Mich told Metro.Style, "Bianca's pegs were dresses or a lavender suit, but I thought I should make a suit so it's really obvious that we're on the guy's side. It was interesting 'cause I don't really do suits but I love them, so I wanted something that was tailored but still looked like I made it!"

4. The reception styling

If the wedding ceremony looked classic and elegant with minimal green and white decor, the tented wedding reception had a rustic garden feel to it with wooden accents and native lighting fixtures accentuating the ceiling. We loved the acrylic place cards, too! Check out their three-tiered cake placed beautifully on a wooden table.

5. The traditional wedding bouquet toss

You know what catching the bouquet means: whoever catches it is believed to be the next person to get married. So, women among the guests tend to fight over this thing. Funnily, when Bianca threw her bouquet, Zoe Laurente and Mich Dulce got it right about the same time; Mich successfully managed to snag it away from Zoe. Congrats, Mich!

6. The newlyweds' grand and unconventional entrance

It's typical for the entrance of the newlyweds to the reception to be grand, but Quark and Bianca's was totally grander and more them. The couple took to the stage with a performance of Evanescence's "Bring Me to Life" to officially welcome their guests to the reception and kick off a long night of merriment.

7. The entertainment that was like a mini concert

Quark directed his own wedding program, and he did such a great job on it. The lineup of performers was simply wow. Guests were treated to song numbers by the newlywed couple as well as OPM artists Basti Artadi, Raymund Marasigan, Christian Bautista, Buddy Zabala, and Yael Yuzon. Their "Ang Huling El Bimbo" rendition made the wedding celebration even more epic so amazing guest Carlo Casas put it perfectly: "This is basically the Avengers right here, guys." Bianca also serenaded Quark, then they both sang onstage karaoke-style. All these amazing numbers were performed with video clips from the couple's engagement session with Redsheep Photo Cinema looped in the background.

8. The artwork / photo display

Continuing the artistic executions even all the way through the reception, artwork by Arnold Arre and photo by Miguel Nacianceno (from Quark and Bianca's food-themed pre-nup photo shoot) made guests stop and look.
