Sambie Rodriguez And Mikko Tung's Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot Exudes Hollywood Glam
Sambie Rodriguez might have had nostalgia in mind when she planned her pre-wedding photo shoot, but the finished products certainly showed off much more than rosy sentimentality; she and her now husband, Mikko Tung, oozed a soft, easy glamor in the stunning series of photos, each pose reflecting their staunch commitment to each other as husband and wife.
"I wanted to do something that was very personal to me. We actually shot the pre-nup shoot at my grandparents' house where I grew up," explained Sambie.
"It was such a lovely experience not only because of the nostalgia I felt, but also because my grandparents and family were able to be a part of it. It was just like playing dress up in our family home and it really meant a lot," she continued.
Proving that a pre-wedding shoot need not be burdensome, Sambie and Mikko kept things down-to-earth but made sure to choose the best of the best in the industry to execute their vision.
"Mikko and I are always trying to find the balance between tradition and modernity. We hope that this balance translates through our photos and also shows people that couples can have a fantastic pre-nup shoot without necessarily having to fly an entire team abroad," Sambie shared.
Celebrated fashion photographer BJ Pascual was the man behind the lens for this photo shoot (which could explain why this couple's photos could have doubled as a dreamy fashion editorial!), while celebrity makeup artist Mickey See and hairstylist John Valle took care of Sambie's nude rose look that brought attention to her luscious skin-kissed complexion.
Of course, also deserving of credit were Sambie's talented styling team composed of Maita Baello of Qurator Studio, dress designer Steph Tan Couture (for her ethereal lace and tulle number), the Tipping Point Collective for sprucing up her her home-turned-photo shoot venue for the day, and Sambie's brother Miggy who gladly stepped up to the plate as the shoot's enthused creative director.
This bride recounts, "We had five layouts and five outfit changes for this pre-nup shoot. It took us a day to get everything done. But luckily, we had the most talented and efficient team supporting us."
Now that Sambie has tied the knot with Mikko, these photos reflecting their last few days before embarking on their happily ever after will definitely be mementos they'll cherish for years and years to come.
For couples who treasure memories as much as they do, consider a crucial piece of advice from Sambie: stay true to yourselves and your tastes as a couple while involving those closest to you in the process. The memories made from the event will be just as precious as (if not more than) the finished products!
"My advise would be to conceptualize something that feels personal and reflective of you both as a couple. Have fun with it and enjoy the process as much as the finished product. I'm truly happy that I decided to use our pre-nup shoot as a pre-wedding bonding experience with my family," she concludes.
