#TheWeightIsOver indeed! Weightlifting champ Hidilyn Diaz has "lifted the 'miss' goodbye," as she's tying the knot with her fellow weightlifter and coach Julius Naranjo in Baguio today. The date has a special meaning for the two athletes as it marks Hidilyn's victory as the Philippines' first Olympic gold medalist. The wedding was previously revealed to take place in St. Ignatius Church at the Philippine Military Academy.

NicePrint Photo shared a first look at the radiant bride, wearing her off-shoulder wedding gown with a cascading ruffled train by fashion designer Francis Libiran. Julius' intricate barong was also made by Francis. The other wedding suppliers who are part of this special occasion are planning & coordination team Events by Miss P, event stylist Gideon Hermosa, makeup artist Juan Sarte, hair stylist Celeste Tuviera, and videography team Mayad Studios (which also worked on Hidilyn and Julius' pre-nup shoot).

The Naranjo-Diaz nuptials' entourage includes 19 pairs of principal sponsors such as former political figures Atty. Leni Robredo and Manny Pacquiao; business tycoons Manny Pangilinan, Ramon Ang, Virgie Ramos, and Teresita Sy-Coson; celebrity dermatologist and cosmetologist Dr. Vicki Belo; motivational speaker and minister Bro. Bo Sanchez; and celebrity couple Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos, to name a few. Hairstylist Celeste Tuviera is walking on behalf of one of Hidilyn’s bridesmaids, Iza Calzado, who couldn't make it to the event.

In line with Hidilyn's momentous golden and historic moment at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, her and Julius' wedding was filled with gold elements—from the stage and ceiling treatment to the tables, chairs, and tablescapes to their multi-tiered cake.

Of this bouquet, event stylist and florist Gideon Hermosa shared: "Our bride, @hidilyndiaz, carries with her a one-of-kind bouquet. One that is reminiscent of the weights she is known to lift with all her strength on the Olympic stage. Today, she walks down the aisle with a double cascading brocade of orchids, the gentlest and lightest she would hold on the day she will say 'I do.'" | Photo by @niceprintphoto

Hidilyn had her bridal shower with her best friends, Team HD family, and her dorm mates three days prior to their big day.

Late last night, Hidilyn also took to her Instagram account to share a new set of snaps with her fiancé and a few friends. Both families of Hidilyn and Julius flew in from Zamboanga and Guam, respectively, for the intimate festivity. “Thank you for traveling here to Baguio to witness our wedding,” Hidilyn captioned. For this event, she wore a Vania Romoff cocktail dress, as styled by Liz Uy.

The powerlifting tandem had their first brush with fate when the half-Japanese, half-Filipino Julius, based in Guam way back, had met Hidilyn by coincidence in an overseas competition. Julius was representing Guam at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2017 when they met. He eventually became her strength and conditioning coach.

The couple announced their engagement on October 16, 2021, a few months after Hidilyn’s triumph at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As she embarks on married life, she's also gearing up for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
