Many are paying their respects with the confirmation of his death on June 24
Former Philippine President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III died on the morning of June 24, Thursday, after being rushed to the hospital.
It was known that the 61-year-old had been undergoing dialysis and was managing other health problems for sometime, but the true state of his physical health had remained undisclosed for years. Since ending his term in 2016, he has lived mostly a private life and has made very few public appearances.
His family has released an official statement about his passing, which his younger sister, Kris Aquino, shared on her Instagram page.
