What We Know About Bee Shaffer And Francesco Carrozzini’s No-Social-Media Wedding
Although the details have been scant and only a few pictures are just beginning to surface, Bee Shaffer (daughter of US Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour) and Francesco Carrozini’s (son of the late Vogue Italia Editor-In-Chief Franca Sozzani) wedding seems to be one of the biggest weddings of the year—and the fashion world is left hungry for more news. However, given the couple’s requests to keep the wedding small and intimate, along with a zero social media policy, we’re left with rumors and paparazzi scoops.
To save you the digging, here’s what we’ve heard about the very secretive wedding:
They had two wedding ceremonies
The first ceremony was held in Anna Wintour’s Long Island home in New York; a relatively small, but celebrity packed ceremony of 150 guests, which included big names like Donatella Versace and actor Colin Firth. To date, there have been no photos or information about this wedding.
On July 18, The second ceremony was held in Portofino, Italy, in the church of San Giorgrio. It was a similarly small wedding, with guests requested to keep their mobile phones away.
Bee Shaffer wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress
Keeping with the Italian theme, Bee was photographed wearing a simple yet elegant, embroidered white dress by Dolce & Gabbana, along with a short intricate veil. Meanwhile, Francesco kept it tailored with a double-breasted blue suite, and casual suede loafers.
They visited Franca Sozzani’s grave
Right after the Italian wedding ceremony, Bee and Francesco did a super quick change to visit his mother’s burial site. Francesco reportedly changed to a simple jeans and T-shirt, while Bee simply removed her veil (but kept her white dress), and they were off to visit Franca’s burial site.
Bee officially changed her Instagram name
What’s better than Facebook official? Instagram official. Although Bee has kept a relatively personal profile on her Instagram, she did make the bold statement of changing her handle name to @beecarrozzini, reflecting her married name.
An exclusive feature on Vogue?
Rumors abound that the couple’s discretion on their wedding details is because of a possible exclusive on Vogue magazine. Specifically, the Carrozzinis nuptials will likely appear on the magazine’s hotly anticipated September issue, the most lucrative and fashionable issue every year. Perhaps all will eventually be revealed on the newsstands if we wait a little longer then.
