Royal Baby Rush: Zara Tindall, Queen Elizabeth II's Granddaughter, Is Expecting!
There seems to be a royal baby rush as of late, with Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton expecting her third child in April, and now Zara Tindall, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, has just announced that she, too, is set to give birth late in the summer.
36-year-old Zara is the daughter of Princess Royal Anne, married to Mike Tindall in 2011. The couple lives a relatively low-profile life, with Zara focusing on her equestrian passions and charity work, while Mike is a former English rugby player.
An adoring British public and members of the royal family expressed their joy at the announcement. The Queen and the rest of the family were "very pleased" to hear about it, as relayed by an official Buckingham Palace spokesperson. It is indeed happy news, considering that Zara had suffered a miscarriage in 2016, a few days before Christmas and mere weeks after she had announced her pregnancy.
The coming baby boy or girl will not be Zara's first child. She and Mike already have adorable three-year-old Mia who often makes appearances alongside cousins Princes William and Harry, and has even been photographed carrying the Queen's handbag and showing it off to photographers and onlookers.
Zara's second child will be Queen Elizabeth II's seventh great grandchild, and 19th in line for the throne if he (or she) is born after Prince William and Kate's baby.
