<p>There are places you visit for a quick getaway, and then there are places that instantly make you think, &quot;I wonder which next social event would bring me back here.” <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thegranary.ph/?hl=en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>The Granary</strong></a>’s Grand Villa leaves quite an impression, and it honestly doesn’t take long after arrival. </p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:800px;display:block" width="800"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782808150986The Granary Bacolor.jpg" style="width:800px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="800"/><span class="fr-inner">The Granary’s Grand Villa is a sight to behold</span></span></span></div><p>My friends and family recently spent a staycation at the property, and while there were plenty of beautiful details to admire, what stood out most was how naturally the space brings people together. A comfortable couch with entertainment media. A sunken lounge by the pool. Multiple dining spots where everyone can gather and just be. Whether you&#x27;re celebrating a milestone birthday, hosting a family reunion, planning a corporate retreat, or simply hanging out with loved ones for a special occasion, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DIa3XfApfPX/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Grand Villa</a> feels intentionally designed for connection.</p><p>As a summer chaser, one of my favorite features (also the most gorgeous focal point of the place to me) was the expansive pool. Unlike most private villa pools that feel like they&#x27;re built for either kids or adults, this one caters to both. I like how the pool gradually deepens, allowing toddlers and kids to safely splash around while adults lounge nearby or enjoy a leisurely swim on the deeper end. There’s also a towering stonewall falls that adds a textural experience in the water. Throughout our stay, it became the heart of the villa—the place where I enjoyed togetherness the most.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:800px;display:block" width="800"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782808258345The Granary Bacolor 2.jpg" style="width:800px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="800"/><span class="fr-inner">With pool beds and a sunken lounge, the pool easily became my favorite area</span></span></span></div><p>Surrounding the pool is a lush wall of greenery that gives the entire property a secluded, almost hidden-away feel (it also strategically hides the estate’s parking right across). It&#x27;s peaceful without feeling isolated, and luxurious without being intimidating.</p><p>What makes The Grand Villa particularly well-suited for milestone celebrations is that it was clearly designed with groups in mind. The property features <strong>four spacious bedrooms</strong>, alongside a separate <strong>bar-slash-cabana</strong> that can comfortably accommodate two more guests. Throughout our stay, there was enough room for everyone to spread out and enjoy their own downtime, while still having plenty of communal spaces that naturally encouraged us to come together.</p><p>The villa also offers multiple gathering areas, including<strong> three dining spaces</strong> that allow meals to feel different throughout the day, with the <strong>outside dining that comes with a brick oven</strong> perfect for baking pizza. It was easy to imagine larger celebrations unfolding here, where shared meals become part of the experience.</p><p>The Grand Villa&#x27;s <strong>indoor-outdoor living room</strong> was another highlight. Overlooking the pool, the space feels airy and welcoming, blurring the line between indoors and nature. During our stay, we availed their <strong>karaoke sound system</strong> and ended up spending hours singing, laughing, and taking turns choosing songs. A nearby <strong>billiards table</strong> added another layer of entertainment, giving everyone something to do between meals and pool sessions. At one point, we even laid extra mattresses on the floor to extend a cozy lounging area in the living room, which unexpectedly became everyone&#x27;s favorite hangout spot.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:800px;display:block" width="800"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782808748984The Granary Bacolor 3.jpg" style="width:800px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="800"/><span class="fr-inner">Multiple dining areas are spread across the expansive villa</span></span></span></div><p>It reminded me that the best celebrations aren&#x27;t always about elaborate activities or packed itineraries. Sometimes they&#x27;re simply about having enough space to be together. That philosophy seems to be woven into The Granary itself.</p><p>Before becoming the countryside retreat it is today, the property was once a productive rice field cultivated by the owners&#x27; family. Everything changed after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1990, when the land was buried under nearly 20 feet of <em>lahar</em>. Rather than abandoning it, the family slowly rebuilt and <strong>transformed the property into a flourishing mango orchard and farm resort</strong>. Today, more than a hundred mango trees stand across the estate alongside a remarkable collection of ornamental and collector plants, creating the thriving landscape guests now enjoy.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:800px;display:block" width="800"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782808839685The Granary Bacolor 4.jpg" style="width:800px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="800"/><span class="fr-inner">A brick oven, a billiards table, and a giant swing—perfect for merienda time that spills over to dinner</span></span></span></div><p>Knowing this story added another layer to the experience for me. That sense of heritage can be felt throughout the property. The owners also didn’t simply rely on a single architectural blueprint but instead drew inspiration from family memories, local culture, and their travels over the years. Warm wood, natural stone, textured brick, and earthy tones dominate the spaces, while high ceilings and sliding glass doors allow light and air to move freely throughout the estate.</p><p>There are also meaningful touches hidden throughout the grounds. A century-old family fishing boat has been transformed into a striking light fixture above the outdoor kitchen of The Grand Villa. At the same time, vintage water pumps have been repurposed into decorative garden features. Even the curated artworks pay tribute to everyday life on the farm. Designed with abundant greenery, wooden furnishings, stone accents, and Asian-inspired décor, the space feels warm and inviting. Beyond the food and drinks, it&#x27;s also a surprisingly productive workspace thanks to its reliable and fast Wi-Fi and cozy nooks. It was overall atmosphere they thoughtfully and lovingly created for their guests.</p><p>Today, celebrations tend to feel rushed, crowded, or overly programmed, but The Granary’s Grand Villa offers something refreshingly different. It gives families, friends, and colleagues the space to slow down, reconnect, and actually enjoy one another&#x27;s company.
