Equilibria Seminyak

Bali has tons of accommodation choices. But if you’re planning to go around Bali and experience the city and island life, it’s easier to check in to a property that’s close to the city.

Equilibria Seminyak is a tropical paradise in the middle of the city. It features private villas so you can bring your whole family or your group of friends along. What’s also unique about this property is that every villa is equipped with your own personal waterfall, cascading right beside your bedroom. The bedroom itself is a highlight, outfitted with 100% bamboo linen sheets.

The spa rooms are equipped with a tub filled with herbs and botanicals, to help you relax and open up before the massage. Their signature massage (which is a unique combination of Balinese, Shiatsu, and Hawaiian types of massage) is a treat, especially after the 3-hour flight and all the walking and scurrying around in the airport. It’s a great first stop right after you land in Bali; it's exactly what you need to get yourself ready for the days ahead.

Jambe Asri Agrotourism

Kopi luwak or civet coffee is a popular coffee variant that’s produced mainly in Bali. Kopi luwak beans are coffee cherries ingested and then egested by the Asian palm civet.

If you prefer your coffee strong, then you’ll love civet coffee. It is, however, one of the most expensive variants of coffee since the coffee cherries have to go through the digestion of the civet for fermentation, before it is roasted to become beans.

To meet a civet, visit the plantation, and get a taste of their coffee, drop by Jambe Asri Agrotourism. There, they also offer a tasting menu that consists of 13 different variants of coffee and tea.

Bali beach life

The highlight, of course, of any Bali trip is the beach. Bali is home to phenomenal white sand beaches that lend an astounding view of the sunset and sunrise.

There are many beaches to explore in Bali, and they can get crowded especially during peak season. But for a quieter and more exclusive beach experience, Raul visited the Sanur Beach, which is off the beaten track and serves as a private enclave for huge estates.

The 2- to 3-hectare beach is an absolute paradise, great for lounging around, swimming, or drinking cocktails. Locals also go here to pray to their Balinese gods for their animals and trees.

Grow Up Rooftop Bar

And speaking of cocktails, certainly a great way to spend your evenings in Bali is on a rooftop bar with a great view of the sunset and the Balinese cityline.
