We recently went on a trip to Palawan to visit this eco-luxury hotel set against a backdrop of lush tropical forest, alongside a vast stretch of pristine beach. Pangulasian takes great care of their beautiful villas which are sensitively scattered throughout the tropical gardens. The stunning beach villa that we stayed at is oriented towards the sea, with a private balcony. It’s easy to give in to its allure. The resort offers deluxe accommodations built with contemporary Filipino and cutting edge “green” design.
The resort prioritizes eco-friendly practices in their day-to-day operations to minimize environmental impact. They utilize state-of-the-art sewage treatment, materials recovery, and rainwater harvesting facilities to conserve resources. Pangulasian has its sights set on proving that it is very possible for both hospitality and environmental conservation to coexist.
During our visit, we also learned about their commitment to sourcing seafood responsibly, prioritizing local and sustainably caught fish in a sustainability talk.
Another highlight of this luxurious escape is that we were joined by renowned Michelin star Chef Deepanker Khosla of Haoma Bangkok, in collaboration with Chef Chele Gonzalez of Gallery by Chele. Both chefs showcase a deep commitment to ethical and environmental principles. Chef DK’s Haoma earned its first Michelin star in late 2022, combined with a Michelin green star for outstanding work in sustainability. He always had the visions to create sustainable food and beverage business.
In a gourment bonfire beach barbecue dinner, Chef DK’s menu shines a light on exquisite dishes using fresh, local ingredients, in collaboration with El Nido Resort’s Executive Chef Ric Ramos.
With sustainable tourism fast on the rise, more venues in the Philippines and across the world are committing to a greener future, establishing authentic efforts to both preserve their natural environments and support local communities. And just like at El Nido Resorts, we hope to find more planet-friendly options that put conservation first—no matter your travel style or budget.
