Want To Ski? Check Out These Lodges

Ski trips are the perfect friend vacations in winter months: There’s hardly anything more fun than getting active with your family and friends and celebrating with boozy drinks by the fireplace après-chic. To help you plan ahead for your mountain vacation, we rounded up some of the best ski lodges around the world that will be a blast. Now all that’s left is to style a chic snow bunny ensemble!

Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole in USA

This place reset the standard for Rocky Mountain luxury, and continues to hold the banner high. The valets wear cowboy hats and some chairs are upholsteres in cowskin, but otherwise this is a top-flight Four Seasons through and through, with plush guestrooms and a full-service ski concierge. The year-round destination shines in winter: Hot chocolate and s’mores are served on the outdoor pool deck, landscaped to resemble a mountain stream, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s legendary tram is a stone’s throw from the hotel.

The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in California

Surrounded by pine, the resort is centered on an octagonal lobby and its three-story granite fireplace. The warm and contemporary rooms have drop-dead views of the mountain and the valley, and the spa features copper soaking tubs and more splendid views. The Ritz-Carlton is a rejuvenating retreat for guests seeking a heightened level of privacy and service.

Altapura in France

Altapura is about as posh as it gets. Lodging at the 61-room, 27-suite hotel, which sends guests a pre-arrival email allowing them to book lift passes and ski lessons in advance, sport blonde wood and mod, spare furniture that’s more Scandinavian minimalism than cozy alpine chic—but utterly stylish nonetheless. And at 7,500 feet up, this resort, not just the highest in the Trois Valleès region—but all of Europe—doesn’t skimp on the snow, because of its altitude, the slopes are typically covered from November to May, offering a longer-than-average season that appeals to snow sport junkies.
