The Beauty of Bambanti
Earlier this year, the Philippines set a new Guinness World Record—for the largest gathering of people dressed as scarecrows. Isabela Province made it happen during its annual Bambanti Festival, where over 2,000 participants danced simultaneously wearing the Bambanti’s signature colorful outfits that represent the celebrated scarecrow. With the province’s solid reputation as an agricultural backbone of the country, the festivities only acknowledged its locals’ diligence further.
Carrying the theme “Tagumpay Ng Pusong Isabela,” the week-long revelry staged several activities, including the much-anticipated Streetdance and Dance Showdown Competition and Makan Ken Mainum Cook Fest.
Showcasing the innate creativity of Isabeleños, both natives and tourists alike were there to witness the spectacle, with eyes and hearts full from the visual feast.
So feast on and let these photos speak of how the festival went by to its success—bagging an award in the process, and winning the countless smiles in the process.
