These Three New Hotels Reinforce Singapore’s Increasingly Hip Vibe ??

Singapore is young. Where other countries sweep across the years and centuries, Singapore turns a mere 53 years old this week.

Young as Singapore may be, it has an old soul and a style that is constantly evolving. Take the Raffles Hotel. A building more than twice as old as the city itself, it stands tall well into the modern age—a fresh coat of paint bristled over the landmark this year gave it a swift and steady punt into the future. Ever-changing, ever-growing, and ever-expanding to keep up with the times, Singapore is a city for both the present and future.

Proof of this are three new hotels now rising in the country.

The Duxton Club

The latest boutique hotel to pop up in Singapore, the Duxton Hotel is both sparklingly modern and refreshingly authentic—a loving blend of straight edges and careful woodwork. Built out of 13 colonial-era shophouses and spawned by the creative imagination of British designer Anouska Hempel, it combines Chinese, Malay and European architectural sensibilities in a culturally continental dance. Quirky homeliness and a sense of class are what await you at the Duxton.

Andaz Singapore

If what you’re looking for is a good time with friends, then Andaz Singapore might be right up your alley. The hotel is warm and bright from the hotel lobby right up to the wide, spacious rooms, 342 of them, with their wooden floors and pastel drapery. It’s situated right in the middle of Singapore, near the Central Business District and Marina Bay. If you’re looking to stay in, that’s alright—the hotel boasts the most unique of rooftops, with an infinity pool and—get this—little teepees for you and your friends to camp out in as you while the night away.

Time for a mid-week (visual) break! Pool time is always good time.

The Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore

Among the latest in the extensive Dusit Thani line up, the Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore is the smoothest, sleekest of hotels, undulating across the Singapore skyline like the back of a breaching whale. It’s easy to get to, and is located right inside the Laguna National Golf and Country Club–a short 10-minute drive from Changi International Airport. It’s a big hotel, with 198 rooms and eight villas, each one utilizing Asian stylistics to beautiful effect—in true Dusit fashion. It’s a good time for everyone here–there’s a swimming pool for the kids, a gym and a bar for the adults, and recreational spaces that include everything from tennis courts to golf courses to the famous Devarana Spa, a Dusit brand trademark. Wait a little while for this one–doors are expected to open in 2019.

Bright and bustling is the Singapore of today, a Singapore that, while young, is as vibrant and rife with stories as any other city worth your money. If you’re going to make your way there, make sure to book in somewhere nice. We’ve given you a headstart.
