A Middle Eastern Fanfare: Sights to See at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai
One cannot leave the City of Gold without paying a visit to a souk, one of the country’s symbols of culture. It is their traditional open-air marketplace frequented by both locals and foreigners. Dubai is home to hundreds of them, but one stood out among the rest and can be found at the heart of one of the city’s most luxurious resorts, Madinat Jumeirah.
It took its main developer and architect, Mirage Mille, three years just to complete only the first phase of the entire landscape given the tedious floor-planning and intricate design-making of over 40-hectare land mass. Inspired by an authentic Arabian-styled architecture and their traditional courtyard summer houses, stepping into the resort exudes a vibe that can transport you back to how people used to leisurely live along the Dubai creek.
The Souk Madinat Jumeirah is a modern take on a traditional Arabian souk. It is a bustling extravaganza in the middle of the resort with almost a hundred boutique brands, luxurious shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and a theater. The place is fumed with a mixture of bizarre scents and glowing lanterns that look even wonderful come nighttime.
Anybody including Ali Baba would be elated to step foot into the alleyways of Souk Madinat Jumeirah with all the gems one can find inside. Here are some:
Beautifully-crafted fabrics
Jewelry and Antiques
A picture perfect view of the Burj Al Arab
