And so, it was a non-negotiable for Gian and Lara to work with a good team to document their big day. There are many ideal options for wedding venues in Metro Manila alone. But for Gian and Lara, a place that was significant to them and their relationship was the best option. </p><p>Lara said, &quot;The Manila Peninsula has always been close to our hearts. We’ve performed there countless times—for Christmas concerts and special events—so it already felt like home.&quot;</p><p>When choosing a wedding venue, practicality and accessibility are also major factors. Given the recent typhoons in Manila, it was better to go for an indoor event, such as one in a hotel ballroom. &quot;Beyond elegance, we also wanted a venue that was senior citizen-friendly, comfortable, and safe from unpredictable weather,&quot; she added.</p><p>The venue not only delivered visually, but it also impressed everyone&#x27;s palates, elevating the experience for both the couple and their guests. &quot;The Peninsula team went above and beyond—we were literally being fed from the moment we arrived! While many would prefer at least one year of preparation, others, like Gian and Lara, are also absolutely fine with trimming down this process. At times, it&#x27;s really not about how long the preparation takes, but how substantial and meaningful the wedding planning phase is, despite the amount of time spent on it. </p><p>&quot;Some people thought we were crazy, but for us it was just right,&quot; Lara opened up. &quot;With clear priorities, the right team, and a trusted coordinator, that was more than enough time. Gian and I never quite understood long engagements—we simply wanted to get married!&quot; </p><p>&quot;And honestly, the shorter the engagement, the less time for costs to pile up,&quot; she added with a smile. </p><p>Though the wedding was pulled off in just over two months, the couple did not compromise on the details. Gian and I express our love through music, so the night was filled with performances—from classical pieces to big band jazz to musical theatre,&quot; Lara fondly remembered. &quot;We had a teleprompter and top-notch sound system (thanks to GDV) so guests could sing along with the live jazz band—which they did until the very end!&quot; </p><p>As can be expected from the wedding of two musicians, the performances were truly on a different level of awesome, as if the guests bought VIP tickets to a heartwarmingly curated concert.</p><p>&quot;The ceremony music was performed by the <strong>Philippine Madrigal Singers</strong>, and it was heavenly. I carefully chose a sacred repertoire that only the Madz could bring to life so beautifully,&quot; Lara detailed. &quot;For the reception, the highlight was my dad’s jazz orchestra—the <strong>UP Jazz Ensemble</strong>—an 18-piece band he’s been conducting for over 40 years. The rest of the performers were family and friends—my mom, uncle, Gian’s son Haley, our theatre colleagues, and of course, our <em>Ninong</em>, <strong>Martin Nievera</strong>.
