Russian-American Businesswoman Dasha Zhukova Weds Greek Shipping Heir Stavros Niarchos
The days-long Russian-themed celebration, held in the Swiss ski town of St. Moritz, reportedly amounted to $6.5 million
Dasha Zhukova and Stavros Niarchos tied the knot in the Swiss ski town of St. Moritz over the weekend, celebrating their union with a star-studded guest list that included Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Stella McCartney, Kate Hudson, Princess Beatrice, and the Greek royal family.
Dasha Zhukova, 38, is a Russian-American businesswoman, art collector, magazine editor, and philanthropist. She also founded Garage magazine and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow. She was previously married to Russian-Israeli billionaire businessman Roman Abramovich; the divorced couple has two children.
Stavros Niarchos, 34, on the other hand, is a Greek shipping heir and billionaire, who previously dated Paris Hilton, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Jessica Hart.
The two reportedly started dating in 2017; they were first spotted together that year at the Art Basel in Miami. They got engaged in July 2019.
After a civil ceremony held in Paris last October, Dasha and Stavros started 2020 with a bigger, more glamorous gathering in St. Moritz, which was said to have around 300 guests. St. Moritz is a high Alpine resort town in Switzerland. The tiny town has been a go-to of snow sports lovers. Galleries, old hotels, and restaurants also add to the high-life appeal of the destination. The couple and their guests stayed at the five-star Kulm Hotel, which is owned by Stavros' family and said to be the first luxury hotel in St. Moritz. The ceremony, which took place a day earlier than guests expected, was held at a spot special in the Olympaschanze ski jump. It was followed by Russian-themed festivities.
Dasha wore a stunning turtleneck, long-sleeved custom-made gown by Maison Valentino which also featured a dramatic cape design. Other famous brides who wore wedding gowns by Valentino include Nicky Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, and Jackie Onassis.
