5 Things We Loved About Yam Concepcion and Miguel Cuunjieng’s New York Wedding
Take note, modern brides and grooms!
Actress Yam Concepcion got married to her non-showbiz boyfriend, Miguel Cuunjieng, last July 24 (July 25 in Manila) in New York, USA. There to witness their intimate civil ceremony were their family members and close friends.
The Init sa Magdamag star revealed just last June that she was engaged to Miguel since December 2018 and that the proposal happened during a trip to Niseko, Japan.
We can't get over how simply beautiful the occasion was, so we're sharing with you five things we loved about the wedding of Yam Concepcion and Miguel Cuunjieng that modern brides and grooms can take cues from.
This pandemic wedding was held in New York.
After months of having to stay at home due to COVID-caused lockdowns, we can just imagine how happy Yam must have been to get to travel again (it was her fur baby Tiny's first plane ride too!). She left for New York last May, and it turned out to not be just an ordinary vacation. She not only celebrated her birthday there last May 27, she also got married in the beautiful city this July.
The couple exchanged their "I Dos" aboard a yacht with the stunning view of the Statue of Liberty in the background. The rest of the event was celebrated at Chelsea Piers.
Yam wore a simple white dress.
There are different kinds of brides. There are those who have always dreamt of ball gowns for their big day, and there are those like Yam who prefer minimalist designs. For her wedding, Yam wore a simple long white dress with a square neckline and puff sleeves. Her wedding dress is by LoveShackFancy that specializes in ultra feminine, dreamy, and romantic dresses.
To match the simplicity of the bride's outfit, Miguel wore a light blue coat with a white button-down and khaki pants. His boutonnière was by celebrity fave florist and event stylist Gideon Hermosa, and was shipped from the Philippines.
Her accessories are so chic, too!
Adding a cool and summery vibe to Yam's lovely wedding dress was a hat with a white net as well as some flies (an olive zonker and a Rogue foam stone fly, according to the bride), which the groom tied himself. She also wore a nude woven Jimmy Choo ankle-strapped heels.
As for the traditional "something blue," Yam had a woven clutch with a blue tassel.

Her fur baby Tiny doubled as her bouquet and their flower girl.
What further made Yam an unconventional bride was how she opted to do away with the traditional bouquet which brides carry while walking down the aisle. The couple also didn't have a full entourage since the event was intimate, and so there was also no flower girl in sight. But her adorable fur baby Tiny was there to be the bouquet and flower girl in one, and she even had the cutest flower collar made especially for her by no less than Gideon.
Her pictorial hours before the wedding looked classy and cozy.
Before heading to the wedding venue, as is the tradition these days, Yam had a pictorial with NicePrint Photo in her predominantly wood bedroom at the Le Méridien hotel. Clad in a white robe, she posed alongside Tiny, and was the epitome of simplicity in each layout.
For intimate pandemic weddings these days, this is a great photo shoot idea. Though you may not have a maid of honor or your bridesmaids with you while getting ready due to quarantine restrictions, why not have your pet join you in the pictorial instead, right?
