Lifestyle journalist Marie Lozano made quite the impression on renowned bridal fashion designer Rosa Clará when she visited Spain in 2015 to cover the designer's fashion show at Barcelona Bridal Week. Mrs. Rosa Clará and her team were immediately attracted to Marie’s sense of style, charm and grace and she left a lasting impression on them.

In 2018, when the Spanish designer visited the Philippines to meet her brides and to showcase her latest collection, the two met again when Marie interviewed her about her business. After that interview, Mrs. Clará shared with Marie that she would love to dress her when she gets married.

It is somewhat a Cinderella story for a bride-to-be, to be handpicked by an internationally-known fashion designer to be her muse, and for her big day at that. Such was what happened when Marie, in a stunning Rosa Clará gown, tied the knot with her longtime beau Aaron Gekoski, an environmental photojournalist.

The couple decided to have their wedding at the beautiful Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Marie donned a figure-hugging halter serpentine gown called the 'Ludovica' from the 2024 collection. The timeless wedding gown in a form-fitting silhouette shows off all of Marie’s curves while the delicate lace which drapes the entire gown gives off a nostalgic, vintage feel perfectly matching the bride’s engagement ring. The turtleneck halter neckline is a perfect juxtaposition to the large peek-a-boo cutout at the back giving the gown an air of elegance with a dash of daring.

Like many other brides, the gown that she ended up falling in love with was not what Marie initially gravitated towards as she started trying on different gowns at the Rosa Clará boutique located at the Residences at Greenbelt. This is why the team at Rosa Clará always encourages brides to try on as many styles as possible, even those they don’t think would suit them. Marie initially tried on designs similar to those she would normally wear to special events, like sweetheart necklines and A-line cuts. Ludovica was offered to Marie by the experts at Rosa Clará as a “wildcard” option as they took into account her fashion sense, her body type and the romantic location of her wedding, and it actually won her heart in the end. During her fitting, she was able to show her different options to her closest friends, and to her parents, whose opinions helped her finalize her decision.

“I tried on so many different dresses. I’ve probably tried on over 20 dresses at Rosa Clará since I got engaged. When I first put on Ludovica, it just felt perfect. It even matched my engagement ring. It was the dress I couldn’t get off my mind,” Marie shares. “I also knew my fiance would love it.”

Rosa Clará has been dressing brides for almost 30 years. As the go-to wedding gown designer for the stylish set in Spain, Rosa Clará has dressed royalty, celebrities and brides of famous athletes such as Rafael Nadal and Leonel Messi. In the Philippines, Rosa Clará has been helping brides find “the one” for the last 12 years. For those planning their weddings, they too can find the dress of their dreams by scheduling a visit to the boutique located at the Residences at Greenbelt. Gowns range from around PHP100,000 to 200,000. For appointments, call +632 7238 1310 or text +63945 728 2730. For more information, follow them on Instagram at @RosaClaraPH.
