EXCLUSIVE: The ABS-CBN Ball's Event Stylist, Robert Blancaflor, Shares The Ballroom's Design Details
This award-winning Filipino entrepreneur and international event stylist has three words for what we can expect from the ABS-CBN Ball's overall look: sophisticated, refined, and oh-so-classy!

Without a doubt, Robert is just as excited about the biggest night in entertainment as we are. Sharing throwback photos of his past work in previous Star Magic Balls (he's worked on a total of seven of them!), he's definitely piqued our interest about the new wave of event glamour we can expect this time around.
Explaining his approach to styling big events like the ball, Robert says, "People invest on the general look of their events not just for one night of showing off, but for their families, friends, and guests to look back on and remember the same, exact feeling of the surrealistic experience of being there in the event. This is what we want for the ABS-CBN Ball—to have all the style, elegance, glamour and, significantly, to be timeless."

2017's ball look was inspired by an English garden in full bloom and the majesty of chandelier-clad halls of past; hanging floral pieces added drama, while a color palette of glowing pinks and purples injected a sense of allure. This year, feminine details will take a back seat to give way to a bolder, more assertive look.
"For this year's ABS-CBN Ball, we are playing with the classy and refined colors of red, gold, and black. Style-wise, we would like to go for a combination of greens or foliage designs and complementing touches of art deco-inspired elements, as well as essential mirror and crystal components which will put the glam and sophisticated feel to the ball," Robert shares, effectively getting the wheels of our imagination turning.

Most of the décor will also be made to complement the ball's venue, a beautifully-designed hotel most certainly fit for stars as big as those attending the ABS-CBN Ball. Areas to be highlighted are the hotel's grand staircase where celebrity guests' glamorous ensembles can be fully admired, the red carpet where they can pose for cameras and, of course, the ballroom where most of the night's fun will be at.
Considering that the ball will also be held for the benefit of Bantay Bata 163's relaunching of the Children's Village, Robert also says that his audience "can expect elegance and spectacular styling, but this time with more heart and passion."

Imported flowers, chandelier installations, and other elements Robert is keepnig a secret until the big reveal will all be used to beautify the venue. At the end of the day, Robert's goal is to make the ABS-CBN Ball's look as newsworthy as that of the Oscars or the MET Gala. With his portfolio, it won't be such a difficult thing to accomplish!
The ABS-CBN Ball will be held on Saturday, September 29.
