#RealWeddings: Scenes From Athletes LA Revilla And Dennise Lazaro's Understated Wedding In Cavite
It's not the size of the church, the grandeur of the reception, or the glamour of the gown that matters most at a time like this—it's the depth of the love between man and wife
It was a match made in (sports) heaven!
Professional athletes LA Revilla, who plays in the PBA, and Dennise Lazaro, a volleyball star, tied the knot in January at Silang, Cavite's Bella Rosa Garden venue with a select group of their friends and family to witness the special moment.
Having played for rival schools in their collegiate careers (LA for De La Salle University and Dennise for Ateneo de Manila University), the pair proved that a relationship that's meant to be can and will weather anything, big and small, until it's time for "I do."
With this walk down the aisle six years in the making, LA and Dennise felt nothing but pure happiness when they became Mr. and Mrs. at the altar last January 27.
Spotted celebrating the big day with this couple were many faces from the local sports scene, including Alyssa Valdez, Gretchen Ho, Bea de Leon, Jem Ferrer, Dzi Gervacio, Fille Cainglet–Cayetano, and Jeron Teng.
Though most of the wedding was kept under wraps, LA and Dennise's followers were treated to updates, thanks to this husband and wife's friends who eagerly shared the day's highlights online.
"We wanted something simple and laidback, so we chose to have a classic/rustic theme," says Dennise.
"We really wanted an intimate wedding with just family and friends. It was pretty set at the start to have an out of town edding. But of course, we wanted our venue to be accessible so we chose to have it in Tagaytay.
"It was a must for us that our guests were comfortable as well. We made sure the chapel and the reception venue [would] be close to each other. It was also our top priority to make the wedding a celebration. [We] had to make sure the guests had fun so we had a crazy after party."

For Dennise's simple bridal look, she had glam team duo Mikka Marcaida and Arci Barcenas to thank. Bridal Boutique created her wedding gown and her entourage's outfits. The bride matched her gown with heels by Christian Louboutin and reception kicks by Keds. LA was dressed in Felipe & Sons, on the other hand.
LA and Dennise were engaged for a year before getting hitched.
