She works out without a fuss

A morning person she is, Ina rises early to sweat it out at 7:30 AM, five days a week. In an interview with Dyan Castillejo, she revealed that her routine now centers around Pilates and various exercises done right at home, barefoot and comfortable in boxer shorts and a sports bra. A while after breakfast, she jumps in on being flexible and committed by doing her drills—whether at work or on travels—with an app guiding her routine. For the past two years, Ina has loved to add a one-hour walk on the treadmill after dinner, binge-watching her favorite Netflix shows while burning off those extra calories.



You won’t catch Ina lost in a sea of high-tech gym equipment. In fact, her fitness journey took an unexpected turn during the pandemic when she ditched the gym and pivoted to home-based workouts. Even her housework turns into a calorie-burning opportunity. From sweeping the floor to climbing stairs to cleaning bathrooms, Ina integrates movement into everything she does, embodying her belief that staying fit doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. “I'm constantly moving, doing housework, so I feel that I am still healthy despite the fact na hindi na ako nakakapag-work out sa gym,” said the actress.

Part of her fitness regimen is to incorporate regular dancing. On Instagram, Ina often posts her Zumba seshes with her friends. Guess we can all agree that she’s into minimalist workouts but maximum results—tailored to fit her busy schedule.




She balances indulgence and discipline

But a strong healthy body doesn’t just come from exercise sessions; it’s also about what you put in. Ina’s diet is simple but consistent, which is perhaps her greatest secret. Six meals a day, like clockwork, keeps her metabolism in top shape. “I’m like a baby; I need to be fed all the time,” she joked, but she meant business. Her meals are balanced, often starting with a mid-morning snack of whole wheat toast with low-fat peanut butter and banana, a combination she never tires of. Lunch and dinner follow suit with a nutrient-dense combo of one cup of brown rice (but lately, only half a cup) and lean proteins like chicken breasts, fish, and a heaping serving of vegetables—always baked or boiled, never fried.



But Ina’s no diet extremist! The actress allows herself balance. Pre-pandemic, she was stricter with her meals, but as she’s realized to ease up, she now enjoys food with friends and allows herself weekend cheat days. Ina believes in nourishing her body without overindulgence, and even when it comes to her snacks like nuts, she’s careful to eat them in moderation, knowing too much could be a strain on her joints. Despite her clean eating habits, her approach to nutrition is structured in finding the sweet spot between discipline and indulgence.

More than the routines and diet, it’s Ina’s mindset that truly keeps her youthful glow. Whenever she does her workouts, she makes a quick motivation by reminding herself: “I love this. I love my routine. I love working out early in the morning. I love working out in the afternoon or at night.” This burst of positivity radiates through her, turning fitness into an empowering lifestyle rather than a chore. Be it morning sweat sessions or evening walks, she embraces the process with gratitude and excitement.
