Here’s How Katy Perry Stays in Shape

Here are the secrets to the superstar's flat tummy and toned arms

At 39, pop superstar and super mom Katy Perry is still rocking her body like a firework, and we all want ‘em—a toned physique, rock-hard abs, and flat stomach. Thanks to Katy’s age-defying diet and workout regimen, the American singer-songwriter is able to maintain her youthful glow.




When this California Girl slid into this year’s Paris Couture Fashion Week for Balenciaga’s Fall 2024 couture show, she put on a dramatic coat layered atop her topless look, paired with a semi-sheer ripped tights that connect to her footwear. 


With no shirt whatsoever, Katy left some room for a wild peek-a-boo, showing part of her chest and of course, her stunningly toned belly. She sent the internet into a frenzy when pictures of her circulated, and many envied her physical features just because.




Just like most if not all celebrities, though, Katy shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to sticking to a prescribed diet and an exercise routine. She knows how to keep her body in shape, and works hard to achieve the figure that every girl wants.

1. She stays hydrated. 

Katy is well-aware that water is one of the secrets to having a supple skin, and the benefits of staying hydrated stretches from within. In a 2023 interview with Women’s Health, she revealed that she always starts her day with a glass of water, sometimes with hydration salts or apple cider vinegar added. Celery juice, according to her, is also a classic favorite. “I know it's such a cliché, but I think a lot of us go straight to the coffee without just drinking a glass of water,” she said.





2. She is into meditation and yoga

Being fit is not all just physical. Having a strong mind a strong body is also Katy’s forever mantra, and she goes by the rule that health is actually wealth. She performs Transcendental Meditation (TM), a form of silent meditation, and practices hot yoga, too. “It ignites something in my brain. I get some of my best creative ideas when I’m TM’ing,” Katy disclosed in a catch-up talk with Eat This, Not That! in 2022.





3. She steers clear of sugar and processed food.

According to a Life & Style article last April 2024, a source confirmed that Katy lost at least 20 pounds. The insider also gave a glimpse of what the singer’s diet is like: five small meals a day with chicken, fish, nuts, seeds, and fresh greens and fruits.


4. She goes to the gym regularly and religiously!

If there is one thing that Katy does with sweat, it’s never skipping a gym session. In fact, she has worked with different fitness trainers and goes to the gym five days a week on a normal basis. In case you do not know, as per Jacked Gorilla, two of the staples in her exercise routine include lunges and hip thrusts.





5. She takes inspiration from her fiancé Orlando Bloom.

Apart from doing cardio and light weights, according to a 2024 write-up by Life & Style, Orlando Bloom’s disciplined eating helped Katy sustain her clean food choices. Orlando has a natural flair for sustainable food, and he has already purged himself of all the junk.
