TLC Fitness Converted Me From A Naysayer To A CrossFit Believer
I hate CrossFit.
I don’t want to pay to be bullied into getting fit.
The last CrossFit program I was in five years ago made feel like a rookie on a drill under a sergeant from hell. I swore never to participate in competitive high intensity workouts again after that.
I got invited to experience CrossFit by a gym called The Love Club (TLC)—so ironic, there’s no TLC in CrossFit—just tough love. I was wrong. TLC’s approach to high intensity, time-pressured workout is rooted on holistic coaching.
The brainchild of husband and wife tandem Rachelle Que-Love and Trever Love, together with partner Ian Cang, TLC Fitness was born out of the desire to provide wellness through fitness regardless of age, gender, and fitness level.

I signed up my girls Angel Jones and Kristine Crouch, who also happen to be fitness coaches for the CrossFit bootcamp and expectedly, we were smashed.
Angel and Kristine, true to their stature as fitness pros breezed through the sets and finished strong. I on the other hand, struggled… a lot. I appreciated that none of the coaches pressured me to keep up with my more fit friends, and that I was guided into proper form and correct breathing all throughout the set.
The tone was even , gentle and encouraging. You end up wanting to do more because you’re being cheered on, and you feel fulfilled after conquering yourself in the workout after. There is a sense of community in TLC, which is important for those who are just starting in their fitness journey.
"The members don't stay strangers, but we become a community of friends and family," shares Rachelle. A support system is of utmost importance in anyone's journey to wellness indeed.
Unlike your typical gym wherein you get to come and go as you please even without the guidance of a trainer, TLC Fitness prides itself in professional coaching, wherein clients workout under the guidance and watchful eye of a coach.
“We don’t just want you to be able to squat heavy or run fast or have bulging biceps and six-pack abs; we want you to be able to sit down and stand up with ease when you’re 70 years old. We want you to be able to carry your toddler without getting backaches or wrist aches. We want to see you running with your grandkids or finishing a marathon,” shares Rachelle of their vision.
If you're willing to have your opinions about CrossFit turned around, give TLC Fitness a try, and see if this new workout hotspot is the key to achiving this year's workout #goals!
