Plant Power
Plant-based eating will continue to boom all the more in 2022, with its many benefits not just for our health, but for the planet as well. We've seen fast food chains incorporate plant-based burger patties in 2021, we're excited to see what pops up in 2022! As for you, make sure to incorporate more fruits and veggies into your daily diet, and watch your body thank you for it.

Weizel Gulfan, Wellbeing-at-Work Entrepreneur - Our Everyday Wellness
"Set healthy and flexible boundaries. Communicate what you need, have the courage to be vulnerable and ask for support, surrender enough to open-up and lean on your relationships especially when it becomes a struggle. The worst that can happen is that they reject you, in which case, you need to trust yourself enough that you will still be able to move forward, maybe even better, with so much more ease and flow, unburdened by expectations, as you have done many times over in the past. It is your responsibility to take care of yourself, it is on you that others understand how to care for you as well. Your needs are valid and should be a priority. Be courageous enough to take up space, you are worthy. We can only give from a space of overflow, so see to it that you are not drained. Yes, this too is on you. How empowering is that?"

Stretching Workouts
We may love our HIIT workouts and our weight lifting sessions, but never underestimate the value of stretching in your fitness routine. According to the Mayo Clinic, stretching helps us improve range of motion, improve athletic performance, and decrease risk of injury. All the sitting we're doing definitely calls for a lot more stretching in our days!

Seaweed
You know those nori sheets we love to eat as snacks? They're healthier than you think! Locally, we have the delicacy lato, which is great with grilled fare. In 2022, expect the trend to be a lot more popular! According to Healthline, seaweed has a wide range of vitamins, antioxidants, and has iodine and tyrosine, which may support thyroid function. The next time you're ordering Japanese, make sure to order more nori and wakame!

Breathwork
Did you know that breathing can be a workout? Breathwork is basically a set of breathing techniques that help one's mental and physical state. In 2022, with the continuous rise of mental health awareness, expect breathwork, along with meditation to gain even more attention.

Walking
You guessed right—with all the sitting at home we'll still be doing in 2022 due to the on-going pandemic, we'll need to make an effort to make sure we're walking more. If you don't have the space, now is the time to invest in a treadmill! Get those 10k in!

"To be gentle with myself, to allow my emotions and my thoughts to just be, to become a spectator of those emotions and release them in the most gentle way possible. Secondly, to study more. I am a bit of a nerd with all things science so I would love to study more.. education never ends so it would be great to learn and evolve more. Lastly, to pause and take more breaks. It has been a wonderful year, but I cannot give what I don’t have so I would like to rest and recharge so that I can show up for the ones that need me."
