Every October, the world unites in a shared cause: <strong>breast cancer awareness</strong>. Here in the Philippines, where breast cancer is the most common form of “big C” among women, Breast Cancer Awareness Month holds profound significance. It’s a time to educate, raise funds, and support those affected. According to the Philippine Cancer Society, about 1 in 13 Filipino women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported breast cancer incidence in the Philippines to be 33,079 back in 2022—among the highest in Asia. Annually, the WHO estimates that over 27,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in the country, with about 9,000 of those leading to fatalities. </p><div><br/></div><p>The numbers make it clear: early detection and awareness are more crucial than ever. But it’s not just about the statistics. Behind each number is a real woman with her own story—stories of survival, strength, and sometimes heartbreak. That’s why awareness campaigns are vital to educate, inspire, and make a change.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>PURPOSE-DRIVEN PROFITS: Brands that Show Support</strong></div><p>Over the years, many beauty and lifestyle brands, and establishments in the Philippines have joined the fight against breast cancer. Through special campaigns, limited-edition products, and donations to various foundations, these companies are helping spread awareness in a uniquely feminine way—by encouraging women to take care of themselves and each other.</p><div><br/></div><p><strong>1. Estée Lauder PH: </strong>A global pioneer in breast cancer awareness, Estee Lauder  Philippines partnered with SM Supermalls with the theme, “Beautifully United to Help End Breast Cancer.” The collaboration has been hosting events that educate women about the importance of self-examination and regular check-ups (free breast health exams were offered at SM Aura for early detection and regular screening). That’s beyond 3 decades of commitment! This year, they have their BOOB LOVE call-to-action that encourages women to “feel themselves,” detect early signs and take action. To raise funds, they are hosting a Walk For A Cause event this <strong>October 20, 6AM at Emerald Avenue, Ortigas Center</strong>, with their Avon Feel Yourself Pink Parade. For an elevated experience, you can opt to add two flutes of champagne for P4,890. Meanwhile, the <strong>Pink Staycation Package </strong>features a pink-themed turn-down amenity with the inclusion of enjoying the pink-themed afternoon tea at The Lobby.
