Garnier's One Green Step Is A Step We All Can Take

Garnier just launched two exciting partnerships to help beauty enthusiasts participate in sustainable beauty

Being, or simply trying to transition to becoming eco-conscious has been a huge topic for multiple industries for years. You hear it everywhere these days—one small, seemingly simple habit can greatly contribute to saving our precious Mother Earth. And as it covers our entire lifestyle, sustainability covers beauty as well, with the beauty community encouraging everyone to do their part.

One such brand is beauty and personal care brand Garnier. They have recently stepped up their sustainability game, putting the concept in the forefront of their service. Introducing the #OneGreenStep campaign, beauty enthusiasts will be able to feel the benefits of using Garnier not just for their skin, but also for taking care of nature.

With the boom of online shopping and home delivery, now being the norm in the new normal, the brand has partnered with e-commerce platform Lazada for a greener solution beginning this August. Part of the movement lets consumers purchase Garnier products wrapped in what they call the "Green Parcel".

It’s a plastic-free packaging alternative composed of recycled paper wrap from FSC-certified suppliers that can be reused at least 6 times and disintegrates in water within 30 seconds, a water-infused kraft paper tape to secure and protect the products, and a RoHS-certified paper box that does not contain any hazardous toxic chemicals.

Meanwhile, Garnier has also partnered with environment non-profit organization CORA (Communities Organized for Resource Allocation) for the other half of the cause. For every purchase of the Garnier All-Star Kit—complete with all your favorite Garnier products—one seedling will be donated for the protection of a mangrove ecosystem in Baybay, Leyte.

The project, called “WoMangrove Warriors,” will provide a measurable action for carbon storage and sequestration to help mitigate climate change, improve opportunities for livelihood and income for women involved in mangrove rehabilitation programs and biodiversity-friendly enterprises, and strengthen local policies to support women and children.

With these newly-rolled out projects, everyone can be part of the sustainability movement. By simply doing your skincare routine with favorite products and expressing self-love through beauty, you also get to express your love and care for the environment.
