2026 Beauty trends

<p>As I look back on my camera roll for 2025, I realized that it was a whirlwind of a year for the beauty industry. Now, at the start of a brand new year, I can&#x27;t help but feel nostalgic yet excited for what&#x27;s ahead. </p><p>2025 brought us countless <a href="https://metro.style/beauty/2025/12/31/filipino-beauty-brands-that-launched-in-2025-1700" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">new <strong>F-beauty</strong> brands</a> to love, including those that were backed by celebrities and beauty authorities—a huge trend throughout the year. There was Talee by Belle Mariano and her sister Daniela, BetterHair by celebrity hairstylist Paul Nebres, Bee Bee by Julia Barretto, and Enigma by beauty influencer Raiza Contawi. These brands continue to uplift the local beauty scene and offer us exciting brands to support.</p><p>There were also notable <strong>collaborations</strong> peppered throughout 2025—including countless ones with celebrity makeup artist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jellyeugenio" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Jelly Eugenio</strong></a>! He had collaborations with the likes of Vice Cosmetics for V X Jelly 2, Faboulash for his Bespoke lash clusters collection, together with fellow makeup artists Anthea Bueno and Mark Qua, Sola Beauty for his Vit. C line, and MAC x Lipstick Day, among others. </p><p>2025 also seemed to be the year of the<strong> Fragheads</strong>, as perfume influencers flourished on TikTok and brands boomed with new drops—both local and foreign brands alike. Small-scale brands were born as legacy fragrance brands thrived. Brands like Creed and Parfums de Marly even brought in Thai superstars like Gemini and WilliamEst to grace the events, respectively.</p><p>Quite a few foreign brands found a new home in the Philippines as well, with the likes of skincare brand REVOX B7, Dr. O Skinlab, and CeraVe launching for Manila&#x27;s skincare enthusiasts, beauty tools brand Shark Beauty making its debut in the market, and luxury brand YSL Beauty exciting its fans, making its cult favorites available within arm&#x27;s reach.</p><p>Last year, we also joined a couple of trips abroad for the launch of exciting beauty news: First was the grand launch of <strong>Ultherapy Prime</strong> in Seoul, where we met K-drama royalty Jun Ji-hyun and Lee Min-ho in the flesh, and the launch of <strong>Naturals by Watsons</strong> in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where we got to experience the sustainable brand firsthand. We also go to have a first look at the Dyson Supersonic Co-anda2x at their HQ in Singapore, where our favorite hair tools got supercharged with even more powerful Dyson air technology!</p><p>While these are just some of the big highlights, lots of other trends and happenings took place throughout the year—many of which can be found on Metro&#x27;s website and social media platforms! If you&#x27;re keen on taking a look back, be sure to check it out!</p><div><br/></div><p>Looking ahead, we can&#x27;t wait for what both the local and foreign beauty brands will do, and for<strong> 2026</strong>, we&#x27;re predicting these trends to get bigger:</p><div><em><strong></strong></em><strong></strong><strong><br/></strong></div><div><strong>No to <em>budol </em>culture. Yes to buying less, but better.</strong></div><p><strong></strong>We&#x27;ve long been convinced by random social media videos to buy beauty products we don&#x27;t really need. Just because something is viral or trendy doesn&#x27;t mean we have to have it, do we? Sadly, we&#x27;ve become so used to seeing TikTok videos or Instagram reels telling us our life is incomplete without such and such a product, and falling right into that trap. We are left with shelves of half-used products and our hard-earned money down the drain. <strong>Our tip: </strong>Do your own thorough research, try patch testing if you can in person, and just buy. what. you. need. We&#x27;re more interested in your empties than your hauls. Think of your mom&#x27;s now-vintage Clinique palettes and perfumes, oriental tin can powders, or compacts worthy of your <em>lola</em>&#x27;s kikay kit. In 2026, I predict we&#x27;re going more and more towards this route, giving us some sort of emotional attachment to the past, giving us the relief and comfort we need from the fast-paced digital world. In 2026, we&#x27;re surely going to see more beauty brands embrace the entire lifestyle scene by coming up with even more non-beauty merch, building their own cafes and clubs, and collaborating with brands outside the beauty sphere to come up with more immersive, unique experiences for customers. Far from how aesthetic dermatology used to be, there is a plethora of options for treatments that enhance your natural beauty without making you look overly done. Scared of fillers? Don&#x27;t be. Under the care of the right dermatologist&#x27;s hands, you can get fillers done beautifully to lift and enhance parts of your face without anyone noticing what exactly you had done. Not a fan of invasive face lifts or tightening? There are high-quality treatments like Ultherapy that get the job done without having to go under the knife. The goal is to look effortlessly beautiful—effortlessly you. A few lines here and there, don&#x27;t be alarmed! She embraced powerful graphic eyeliner, brightly-painted neon lips, colored eyeshadow, and big hair. These days, we&#x27;re seeing the beauty community on TikTok experiment with her looks, and we&#x27;re surely going to see more as the year goes by.
