Whether you’re a connoisseur of the art of fragrances or a scent novice, perfumes have always been a personal affair. It’s the invisible accessory that completes any look and something that’s as good as an invisible signature. This powerful olfactory tool not only has the ability to take you on a journey of different notes but also transport you to another time and place.

But with the rise of the popularity of fragrances on social media platforms, a lot of this nuance may be lost in the month’s “must-haves”. So we asked 20 individuals from different corners of the beauty and wellness industry about the perfumes they’ve been loving to hit the refresh button on what’s trending or best-selling and just get a glimpse of what it’s like to live in their shoes for a day through their perfumes.

We also asked them what the reason is behind their fondness of their chosen scent— whether it’d be how it makes them feel, how it helps them put their best foot forward in their line of work, or how it simply makes them remember a person that’s dear to them. Swipe through the gallery below:

Shaira Luna, Photographer - 'My favorite fragrance at the moment is Guerlain’s Angelique Noire! It’s like a sweet, slightly green, grown-up vanilla. For me, it’s a happy, comforting scent that I can wear to work and also enjoy at home.'

Joy Bernardo-Cabading, Stylized Studio Senior Stylist - I tried this perfume Nishane Wulong Cha X) at the Dubai airport Duty Free and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Nishane is a niche brand from Istanbul, so I like that not many people know about it. The downside is, it’s so hard to find. I’m the type who loves Musky citrus-y with a hint of floral scents and this one is the perfect one. Aside from the scent, the longevity is apparently really good (the sales officer at the Duty Free says it can stay for up to 3 days but maybe he was just exaggerating!). At the moment, I purchased a tiny sample size and to be honest, one spray goes a long way.

Ina Roa, Public & Influencer Relations Manager - 'I love Tamburins Perfume Balm in Chamo it because it’s such a calming, subtle scent. It has a sweet, musky, woody scent with a hint of sage. I love putting it on and getting a whiff of it on myself because it’s not overbearing. When someone compliments this scent on me, I feel like they’re in my personal space! It’s also a plus that the packaging is so handy and cute!'

Mizz Raffy, Makeup Artist - 'My current favorite fragrance is Cherry Smoke from Tom Ford. It’s the perfect mix of what I like in a scent— a little sweet but still dark and seductive. I find that there isn’t really anything in the market like it, which is why it always ends up in my rotation no matter where I go.'

BJ Pascual, Photographer - 'I now have two go-to scents: Jazz Club by Maison Margiela and Vanille Antique by Byredo. I love blending masculine and feminine styles in my outfits, so I gravitate towards scents that do the same. I prefer fragrances that are predominantly woody and musky, with a hint of sweetness. These two scents smell very different but both are woody, musky and sweet. I layer them most of the time.'

Cara de Jesus, Product Development Consultant & Beauty Content Creator - 'I don't really gravitate towards floral scents but the Grace by Grace Coddington in collaboration with Comme des Garçons scent is very special to me since my husband chose it to be my wedding scent. I spent months trying to find the perfect scent and none quite hit the mark, but when I smelled this, I knew it was the one. It's a light, soft rose with hints of green basil, mint, and pink pepper.'

Yel Waniwan, Marketing Communications Lead - 'Diptyque do Son is love at first sniff! These creamy white flowers are a total game-changer. Warm, comforting, and a guaranteed mood booster, this scent helps me feel more upbeat and lively. As someone who does events and meets tons of people, I need a scent that lasts long and leaves a great impression. This one checks all the boxes!'

Abraham Guardian, Creative Director and Fashion Designer of HA.MÜ - 'During our Bangkok trip, my boyfriend accidentally spilled his Tom Ford Tuscan Leather in our room and it made our AirBNB smell like him. His scent lingered all day, and it was the last thing I smelled before we fell asleep. As we navigate our long-distance relationship, this scent has always reminded me of our first adventure together outside the Philippines.'

Alan Segui, Photographer - 'It isn't my signature scent but Aesop's Gloam is my current favorite. I love spraying it before going to bed or when I know I'm going to be indoors all day. I love how it reminds me of the first few hours after it rains.'

Lierge Perey, Beauty Content Creator - 'My favorite scent is Terrific Tonka & Raspberry from Maison 21g. It's the perfect mix of fruity and sweet scents. It's a gourmand fragrance that doesn't feel sticky in this hot weather. Love how fresh, nutty, and fruity it is at first spray then as it dries down, the scent evolves into a powdery, flirty warmth with an ambery undertone! Not a lot of people know this brand and scent, so I immediately made it my signature scent.'

Ava Diaz-Daza, Co-owner of Jellytime and co-host of The Sexytime Podcast - 'I love Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt because it smells fresh and clean to me! I also like scents that don’t feel overpowering and this is one of those.'

Jayda, Singer/Songwriter - 'I’ve been using the My Way by Giorgio Armani after receiving it as a 20th birthday gift from my parents. I use it a lot when I do events. I love how classy and expensive it smells, and it does stick pretty well on me. Plus, there’s nothing better than hearing from people that you smell good!'

Erika Kristensen, Professional Host and Beauty Queen - 'Tom Ford Lost Cherry is my current obsession only because the aroma is very nostalgic! I love how the fragrance reminds me of Christmas evening with a burning fireplace and you just made a fresh wreath with some vetiver and cherry for that balsamic smell. Moreover, the scent gives a very mature, alluring aura. It perfectly encapsulates where I’m currently at in life!'

Jay Rempis, PR Director - 'It took me a while to find a scent that suits me because I was looking for something that complements my quiet and laid-back personality. When I used to check out different scents, I’ve always gravitated towards subtle and light fragrances, but many start off great and then become overwhelming. When I tried Le Labo Matcha, I loved its creamy and subtly sweet notes. I knew right away this was the one I was looking for!'

Iya Omaña, Beauty Content Creator - 'I love how Maison Margiela Replica On A Date reminds me of warm sunsets. It’s also my most complimented perfume, so I guess it really suits me the best. The scent is sweet & fruity but also uniquely warm & cozy. Plus, it’s really long-lasting on me too!'

Pam Bassig, PR Manager, Marie France Group - 'About 80% of the scents I gravitate towards are floral scents. Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede for me presents a different dimension on a feminine scent with its suede, musky notes. I love how I can use it from day meetings to night events.'

Tanya Maria Aguila, Author and owner of OneLife Studio - 'I love Le Labo’s Ambrette 9 because it is so light, subtle, and so easy to wear everyday. It’s soft, citrusy, and fruity— not overwhelming. For me, it’s the perfect scent for sessions at the [Onelife] studio then a quick coffee catchup with the girls. It’s a happy and uplifting treat when I feel like I need a pick-me-upper.'

John Llamas, Photographer - 'Being in the creative industry means having the chance to leave a good impression when working with multiple individuals and one way to do that is by smelling good. When picking a perfume, I usually like a zesty aroma with a slight woody scent and Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani gives me exactly what I look for that will leave a lasting impression.'

Ingrid Santamaria, Beauty Queen and Model - 'The one perfume that is by far my favorite to use on a daily basis is When the Rain Stops by Maison Margiela. This light and refreshing fragrance with an aquatic accord is so sentimental to me, as it was the only scent I took to Bolivia, where I represented our country on the international pageant stage. Made by perfumer Franny Bal to recreate the scent of fresh rain and sun rays, the message behind this perfume holds true for us all: the sun always returns after the rain, like a promise of a better tomorrow.'

Celeste Gabriel - 'My fave go-to fragrance is Zara's Nude Bouquet! I like it because the scent's floral and fresh but not too sweet. As a PR girlie, it’s important that I look good and feel good at work and I've gotten a lot of compliments because of this perfume!'
