If the past two months are any indication of what we can expect from the local beauty scene, we can safely say that we are in for a fast ride this 2024! It’s only the second month of 2024 but the beauty brands haven't just eased into the new year, but instead have come out swinging with brand new products, meaningful campaigns, and even comebacks! If you can’t keep up with what the beauty mill is churning, don’t worry, we’re here to fill you in!


Happy Skin brews up new colors for tints and announces a major crowd fave comeback!

At their Mallow Cafe pop up, Happy Skin set up shop at Yardstick in Makati to give an exclusive preview of their newest launch (and relaunch). Guests were treated to coffee, pastries, and of course, the main course: the Happy Skin lippies. The cafe served as the perfect venue to announce that after much demand from the beauty brand’s fans, they are finally bringing back the Lip Mallow Mousse! According to CEO and co-founder Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez, they really try to listen to what their consumers want and this coffee-inspired line in particular was the most common request. So they brought back the Lip Mallow and this time, for good! “We decided to bring back the Lip Mallow Mousse because of the clamor of our loyal users! It’s truly the most lightweight lip mousse you’ll ever get to try! It smoothes out dry lips and gives you the most natural looking lips.”

They also announced the five new shades for their Lip Mallow Tints—Eclair, Bonbon, Soufflé, Macaron, and Hazelnut. As you can tell by the name, the collection is inspired by yummy pastries, even having a faint sweet smell to them too! This addition comes after the success of the lip tints that were originally created in place of the Lip Mallow Mousse because of the demand for longer wearing lip products that can stay put even under the masks worn during the pandemic. Jacqe shares, “Lip Mallow Tints were created during the pandemic when people really wanted a long lasting lip product. We made it in shades of nudes, reds, pinks, and peaches. Since it’s now a bestseller, and we have enough shade range to choose from, the newest 5 shades we released are just all our personal favorites! It’s more muted shades especially Macaron, Souffle, and Éclair— subtle looking tints that’s more MLBB. Hazelnut is perfect for morenas! And Bonbon is made for that cute bright pink look!”. Barenbliss celebrates the month of love with a new campaign that centers on cherishing the sweet blissful moments of life

The Kiss of Bliss was in the air as Barenbliss celebrated an early Valentine’s with their Valentine muse, Toni Sia. At the 22grams Dessert Bar & Restaurant in Makati, the Korean beauty brand threw a pre-Valentine’s celebration where guests got to enjoy a variety of specially curated food and desserts, a photo booth, a claw machine with cute prizes, lots of Barenbliss products, and even musical performances from the BNBallerinas and P-Pop girl group, KAIA. During the closing remarks, brand manager, Keylyn Trajano, expressed gratitude for the continued support for the beauty brand and doubled down that they chose this campaign messaging because they wanted to celebrate and encourage feeling all the love that surrounds us and cherishing every moment that makes us bloom. Chu Chu Beauty celebrates their 2nd birthday with new shades of their best-sellers and a new product

Arguably the cutest beauty brand out there, Chu Chu Beauty threw their very first beauty event called Chu Chu Academy to celebrate their second birthday. Guests were asked to come in either as a Preppy Rebel or a Preppy Princess.


As expected, Chu Chu went all out for their birthday bash. They had music, lots of food, sweets, photo booths, and even three set designs specially made by Rocket Design Studio for the beauty event. Each set design mimicked a core school memory that guests could use as backdrops for their pics. After a short and sweet remark from the “principal”, creative director and co-founder, Joel Martin Andrade, the brand introduced the new Chu Chu products! First off, an additional three more shades of their Heart Blush Duo: Darling Baby, Sweet Missy, and Love Candy, priced at P299 each, next, three new shades of their Juicy Dew Tint: Rose Berry, Nude Melon, and Grape Juice, priced at P199 each, and the six shades of their brand new product line, the Velvet Blur Tint: Valley Girl, Totally, Nude Fudge, Bratty Mauve, Like Peach, and Wannabe Brown, priced at P199 each.
