ABS-CBN Ball Returns To Makati Shangri-La

When the ABS-CBN Ball formally opens tomorrow, September 30, 2023 at the Makati Shangri-La, it will have come full circle since. That's because the very first Ball was held at this same hotel in 2018. Since then, the Ball has survived, only pausing a few years because of the pandemic. This year, as we anticipate this spectacular event, we're just as excited over once again experiencing Makati Shang's very own style of throwing a banquet: fabulously deliciously, always plush, never commonplace. 

The hotel's fantastic spaces will be in full use, especially the magnificent lobby staircase, and the ballrooms. And the kitchens will be in full swing producing an endless stream of delicious bites and sips for the metro's most beautiful and celebrated names. 

The carefully curated menu begins with an eclectic selection of salads and appetizers, from tuna tataki with crab stick salad; a mouthwatering seafood platter; Bicol pepper flavored prawns on a field of greens and avocado salad; and a glistening selection of fresh sushi and sashimi. 

The soup is a country-style tomato soup with garlic bruschetta, served with assorted breads. 

The star of the banquet will be a whole roasted striploin beef with black pepper sauce. Meanwhile, hot dishes include crystal prawns and golden mushrooms in XO sauce; Cajun-marinated chicken thighs with salsa; and seared lapu-lapu with green asparagus and sautéed oxtail meat. 

Sweet to behold will be the dessert selection, which ranges from crème caramels and berries crumble, to baked cheese pudding and dark and white chocolate mousse.
