Marina Summers Cannes Film Festival 2025 Skin Prep

<p>World, it’s still summertime indeed because <strong>Marina Summers</strong> continues to make her presence felt on the global stage. This time around, it’s attending the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The 28-year-old Drag Race PH and RuPaul&#x27;s Drag Race: UK vs. the World alum became the first Filipino drag queen to walk the Cannes red carpet. Carrying with her the spirit of Filipino drag excellence and Filipino LGBTQIA+ representation, she served two stunning looks: a custom<strong> Mark Bumgarner </strong>ensemble<strong> </strong>on day 1 and a <strong>Rajo Laurel</strong> creation on day 2. But the common denominator of her two-day appearance? Her immaculate face card. </p><p>Her mug was so good that, according to Marina’s post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ1kVkUqSbZ/?img_index=1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Instagram</a>, even Angelina Jolie said that she looked “gorgeous tonight.”</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1747906217146downloadgram.org_499270139_18127376896434312_4149644437912005687_n.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@marinaxsummers</span></span></span>We all know Marina is a wizard with a makeup wand as she takes her drag makeup very seriously, and she also got glammed by makeup designer <strong>Harry Clifford Jefferso</strong>n on day 1 of her Cannes appearance. But, she also gets a little help with her canvas.</div><p>To help her achieve her picture-perfect moment at this year’s festival, the Filipino drag superstar enlisted the help of her long-time aesthetic collaborator,<strong> Dr. Cyril Mitchel Agan, </strong>and <strong>Lift Aesthetic Clinic</strong>. One important thing he noted was that it wasn’t a one-day deal. “So, our treatments with Marina it wasn&#x27;t a one-time session. We actually started prepping in December, January, and then she came back again for the same treatments in March, a few weeks before she flew.”</p><p>He said that the first thing on their agenda was helping her improve her skin. With her line of work, Marina’s skin does get put through the wringer. Dr. Cyril elaborates, “Her skin was tired from all the tours, jet lag, and all that. So, the first issue that we wanted to fix was her breakouts. Because she wears a lot of makeup, right? Late nights, the stress, and also traveling. All of those can give stress to the skin. Skin quality is very important to me. It&#x27;s hard to hide when there&#x27;s a breakout, even with makeup.”</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1747906559609out of drag at Cannes 2.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@marinaxsummers</span></span></span>To address the skin issue, Dr. Cyril says they did a skin treatment cocktail. “We did a combination of <strong>Retinol Peel</strong> and <strong>Diamond Skin</strong>. Retinol Peel helps exfoliate the skin, helps lessen the oiliness. It also dries existing acne. And then after that, like two weeks later, we did Diamond Skin. That&#x27;s our star treatment to help rejuvenate the skin. So, for her, it makes the scars and the pigmentation less. The skin really glows.”</div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1747906613190out of drag at Cannes 1.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@marinaxsummers</span></span></span></div><p>If you’re curious about what Diamond Skin is, it’s a intradermal treatment where they inject a combination of <strong>PDRN</strong> (also known as <strong>Salmon sperm or DNA</strong>) and <strong>Hyaluronic Acid</strong>. PDRN is known to help stimulate cell regeneration, boost collagen production, and enhance tissue repair, while HA hydrates and helps smooth the skin.</p><p>That was step one. For step two, contouring, Dr. Cyril says he did a combination of their usual <strong>fillers</strong> and <strong>botox</strong> routine on Marina to tighten and define, “These are the usual [treatments] that we do with Marina regularly. But since we&#x27;ve been doing it for a while, I tend to use fewer products. So it&#x27;s really just retouching from her previous visits.”</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1747906695749Day 1 Marina Summers Cannes.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@marinaxsummers</span></span></span>With all the treatments Marina got, Dr. Cyril says that the key to Marina’s show-stopping red-carpet face was doing them gradually and being intentional with every treatment they do, a method he also applies to all his clients. “I think the idea there is, it&#x27;s a process. You don&#x27;t do everything all at once right before you leave [for a trip] or a big day, because you want the skin to heal and to adjust and to improve over time. We&#x27;ve also been doing treatments for a long time, for years already. So now, we only really do small things or in smaller doses. Because, of course, the end goal is that the look should still be natural.”</div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1747906756751Marina Summers x Angelina Jolie.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@marinaxsummers</span></span></span>As for how he felt when he saw Marina’s photos at Cannes, adding another milestone to her career, he says he’s proud of her and he’s happy that he gets to somehow be a part of her win, too. “I&#x27;m really proud. Even though, of course, it&#x27;s all because of her beauty and talent, I can&#x27;t help but feel that I&#x27;m part of her [too]. Every time she stands there, every time she gets a photo, I&#x27;m part of that. You can see my work through her face.”</div><p>Finally, he also shared that every time Marina has a big gig coming up, he doesn’t feel any pressure to make her look “perfect,” but rather, he welcomes the challenge. “The goal is really to make her look her best. There&#x27;s no pressure at all; I feel more excited. Every time she&#x27;s going to do something somewhere, I always get excited. I always think I have to do my best. I have to do whatever she needs. She looks good already, but she keeps on evolving, and she looks better and better. So, it&#x27;s just also exciting how much she can look even better in the future.”</p>
