Belo Prohfilo Review

<p>As a beauty writer, I&#x27;ve had the privilege of exploring countless skincare products, allowing me to hone in on what truly works for my skin over the years. While I wouldn&#x27;t call myself obsessive, my regimen, which includes sunscreen, a rotation of serums, retinoids, and moisturizers, has been quite beneficial. </p><div>Nonetheless, when I hit my late 30s, I started to feel a shift in my complexion. My skin became drier and flakier in some places, and also felt less firm. I also thought it looked duller and was definitely bereft of the glow of my 20s that I so naively underappreciated. My solution was to ramp up my skincare, which did help, but only to a certain extent.  <img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751621460425envato-labs-image-edit (8).png" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/>As luck would have it, I got invited by <strong>Belo</strong> to try <strong>Profhilo</strong>,<strong></strong> a treatment that’s been making quite the buzz in the beauty community, to rave reviews. Christened as an <strong>“injectable moisturizer”</strong>, it’s a hyaluronic acid biostimulator that rejuvenates the skin from the inside, improving texture, hydration, firmness, and appearance. Because of its many benefits and the fact that it had little to no downtime, I decided to give this little “fountain of youth” a try. </div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751621547866woman-beauty-salon-look-away-receive-bottox-face-injection-with-syringe.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">Profhilo</span></span></span></div><p>Spoiler alert! I loved it, and have been recommending it to friends, and even strangers who have complimented my skin. It was a true game changer for me, and has given me a boost of confidence and a youthful glow. Another thing that convinced me was that hyaluronic acid is something that is normally present in our bodies, but just decreases with age. This makes Profhilo a relatively conservative option, and perfect for someone like me who’s never had an injectable procedure.</p><div> </div><div><strong>So, What is Profhilo? </strong></div><p>Profhilo is a “beneath the skin” hyaluronic acid (HA) moisturizing treatment, falling under the new category of injectables called “skin boosters”. As it is injected a few millimeters into the dermal layers of the face, it hydrates the skin from within, giving it that healthy bounce and plumpness. Beyond that, it also has regenerative properties, stimulating collagen and elastin formation to improve skin structure, elasticity, and achieve a noticeable lifted look. </p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751621660985SSN_0324.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">Belo NEXA</span></span></span></div><p>With one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid in the market, Profhilo is able to deliver gradual, but long-lasting effects. During this time, according to Profhilo’s website, four different types of collagen and elastin are stimulated, resulting in significant tissue improvement. At Belo, it can be injected either in the lower face or the neck to restore firmness and tone.  </p><div> </div><div><strong>How Does It Work?</strong></div><p>My sessions were conducted by <strong>Dr. Alyanna Tolentino</strong> of Belo Trinoma, who took time to explain the procedure and answer my questions when we first met. The treatment comes in the form of an injectable gel of HA, which she administers on 10 points on the lower face, with 5 on each side. These injection points, she says, are specific areas called Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP), carefully chosen to maximize their benefits and minimize risk. </p><div> <span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751621766165MGO_0323.jpeg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">Belo Trinoma</span></span></span></div><p>Unlike traditional HA fillers, Profhilo does not add volume to the face as it is designed to spread over a large area. Dr. Alyanna shares that instead, clients can expect gradual, but long-lasting effects and a natural, glowing look. </p><p>To get the best results, two sessions spaced around a month apart are recommended. And while clients will see noticeable improvement after the first session, it is really after the second one that they can really feel the tone and texture of the skin change. This is because it takes a few weeks for collagen and elastin to build, but when they do, the positive effects they bring last for a few months. </p><div> </div><div><strong>Does It Hurt?</strong></div><p>Dr. Alyanna assured me that the treatment wasn’t really “that painful”, noting some clients even chose to forego the anesthesia and just numb the injection sites with ice. She shares that she’s tried it both ways, and the injections felt about the same. Still, as this was my first time, I chose not to risk it and had a topical anesthetic called Emla applied.  </p><p>I relaxed with some coffee as I waited 30 to 40 minutes for the anesthesia to take effect. The treatment itself took less than 15 minutes, with the doctor gently injecting Profhilo onto my face. While mostly painless, I did experience a higher level of tenderness at maybe 3 to 4 points. </p><p>After the session, expect to see small, soft bumps on the injection sites that should dissipate over the course of a few days. Some people do experience bruising, but thankfully, I did not. Other than that, there really is no downtime, and you can go about your day as soon as the treatments are done. </p><div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751621839007natural-young-woman-posing.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>Did It Work? </strong></div><p>A week or so after my first session, I could already see an improvement in how my skin felt when I touched it. It felt bouncier, more resilient, and hydrated, and I would be surprised how much “happier” it seemed when I looked in the mirror. I found myself using half the usual amount of foundation when getting ready for events, and it glided on more effortlessly. And since I was using less product, I ended up saving a lot of time and energy, which I definitely could use more of in a day. </p><p>As things got busy, I wasn’t able to go for my second session until seven weeks after my first. Dr. Alyanna assured me that this was still okay and noted how my skin was much more luminous. The second session went the same way as the first, but I was no longer apprehensive as I knew what to expect. </p><p>Now that it’s been a month since my second shot, I would say I am really reaping the benefits of my bravery, granted that it was just overcoming a slight fear of needles. My friends and family have told me that my skin looks much fresher now, but even strangers have been saying nice things. For instance, while shopping for a toaster oven, the sales associate told me that I reminded her of the Asian actresses on TikTok dramas. On more than one occasion, I was told I had a vague resemblance to a certain Korean singer. I used to get a lot of that when I was younger, but haven’t heard this observation in a decade. Some women go in for top-ups much earlier, but it really depends on the patient. It can also be used in conjunction with ultrasound or laser machines to create a synergistic effect that addresses multiple skin concerns. It’s also crucial to remember that while Profhilo does deliver numerous benefits, one should still manage expectations as results will vary from patient to patient. </p><p>As the treatment is on the “conservative” side, most people are able to do it, with the exception of pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid. As with any treatment, it’s always important to do your research on the procedure, the clinic, and opt for a qualified injector like a dermatologist. </p><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>The Verdict</strong></div><p>Profhilo truly feels like the missing link in my beauty regimen—that crucial, foundational step before the creams and serums that pave the way for a more radiant complexion. Having experienced and felt the results firsthand, I now understand why so many people raved about it and encouraged me to try it. I&#x27;m so pleased that sharing my experience now feels like my way of paying it forward.</p><p>My skin now boasts renewed elasticity and a subtle lift, with my cheeks feeling noticeably cushier. My complexion is more hydrated, and my pores are slightly less pronounced. This newfound health and vitality on the outside has also boosted my self-assurance within. Overall, I&#x27;m absolutely loving this luxurious glow and feeling wonderfully spoiled by the results.</p><p>And while I know the effects won&#x27;t last forever—which is to me the only downside—I&#x27;m pleased to have found a treatment that provides a &quot;my-skin-but-better&quot; look with minimal pain or fuss. I&#x27;ll certainly be scheduling another session when the time comes, though I&#x27;m definitely crossing my fingers it won&#x27;t be for a good long while!</p>
