<div><strong>Pinay Girl Boss </strong>capped the Women’s Month with “<strong>Icons of Impact</strong>,” highlighting 28 women with 28 advocacies exhibiting their power and resilience in the society. During the event, PGB presented a variety of substantial workshops, offering a wide understanding of women’s reproductive health, mental health, managing finance, and many more. The talks hosted by women of experience enhanced and expanded my knowledge, challenging some of the beliefs that often limit me as a woman.</p><p>Reflecting on the lessons I learned, my well-being flourished by demonstrations of peacefully handling my emotions, choosing the right people to guide me, managing my expenses wisely, and healing myself through self-care. The substantial narratives from Icons of Impact stand as a testament that PGB offers more than just a simple workshop; it’s a meaningful dialogue that encourages women to be kinder to themselves–not as rigid or unbreakable individuals but as a mother, a sister, and a woman with a heart.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Empowering Mental Health Tools for Women’s Welfare</strong></div><p>The key to soulful and joyful living is managing our emotions. While we cannot fully control our feelings, we can choose how we express them–primarily through words or actions, which can profoundly impact others. <strong>Kathi Rañeses</strong>, an <strong>Executive and Emotional Intelligence Coach</strong>, and the founder of <strong>Coaching Happiness</strong>, sheds light on the importance of managing our emotions properly, particularly anger.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1744797881739_FGC3617.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div> </div><p>Most of what we know about anger is the dramatic, rage-filled kind we see in telenovelas and soap operas. And honestly, we can’t entirely blame ourselves for that. As someone who grew up in a household that regularly watched local television–albeit with parental guidance–the media played a big role in shaping how I perceived and expressed anger, often escalating conflicts rather than resolving them.</p><p>Kathi emphasizes that beyond the intense, explosive anger we’re familiar with, there’s also such a thing as healthy anger. It’s the kind version that allows us to express ourselves honestly, without unnecessary arguments, and even helps strengthen our relationships. According to her, anger doesn&#x27;t always have to come out as yelling or dominating the conversation. Sometimes, it can sound as gentle as: “Hey, ‘<em>yung ginawa mo kanina, medyo hindi ko nagustuhan. Pwede bang ‘wag mo na lang ulitin</em>? Thank you.”</p><p>See? Learning our emotions and properly expressing them can have a positive impact on the working or household environment we’re in and even the situation we’re currently dealing with. A simple and gentle conversation, when done the right way, can ease tension and resolve the issue instantly–leading to a more vibrant atmosphere between people.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Style Unlocked</strong></div><p>Another thing I will also never forget is learning how to aptly handle my finances–specifically, understanding how to distinguish between needs and wants. PGB emphasized our shopaholic tendencies during their fashion segment in partnership with <strong>Plains and Prints</strong>, pointing out that buying clothes just to follow trends is a bad habit. With their phrase “<strong>Style Smarter Not Harder</strong>,” I realized that choosing clothes I can wear for multiple occasions is a five-star catalog decision for me. Not only can I mix and match different pants, sleeves, or blouses, but I can also reuse them in a uniform way without worrying about a trendy style to illustrate. Their wisdom on shopping thoughtfully and assembling finances smartly helped curate my lifestyle.<strong></strong></p><div><strong><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1744798030282_FGC3476.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></strong></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>Pinay Girl Boss&#x27; Beauty Workshops</strong></div><p>The beauty workshops were hosted by well-recognized makeup artists and hairstylists. These professionals shared valuable insights with the audience, introducing new beauty tips we could incorporate into our routines. One of my favorites was perfecting my sleek ponytail. Thanks to <strong>Bryan Lopez Eusebio</strong>, he taught us the proper way of achieving that supermodel clean-style ponytail! We all know the ponytail is a go-to hairstyle that works for any occasion. And as someone who frequently goes to events, being able to pull this hairstyle anytime is a huge help for me.<strong></strong><strong><br/></strong></p><div><strong><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1744798132645_FGC3744.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></strong>Another vital learning from the event that expanded my beauty dictionary was the makeup session held by a professional makeup artist, <strong>Carmel Villongco</strong>. According to Carmel, makeup, especially for beginners, doesn&#x27;t always require brushes and foremost fingertips is your great friend in drawing silhouettes on your face. For enhancing the nose bridge we can use our ring finger and blend it towards the other one. Next thing, place it in between our upper nasal bones then lightly blend it downwards your bridge to amplify your nose evenly. </p><div><strong>Achieving a Sharp Eyeliner</strong></div><p>As a makeup enthusiast, I’ve always indulged myself in trying different products, learning proper color analysis for my skin, and training myself in various techniques. However, one thing I haven’t fully mastered–despite years of doing it–is eyeliner. Believe me, I’ve tried all kinds: liquid, gel, even pencil. But I always struggle to draw a symmetrical line on my eyes.</p><p>Fortunately, Carmel helped me carve out a sharp line. She shared a simple trick; when using pencil eyeliner, I can use my fingers or nails to create that defined, sharp effect–which actually worked for me! What I realized is that sometimes, our overreliance on makeup tools makes us overlook the creative potential of our God-given features.</p><p>***</p><p>After grasping all the fresh ideas from PGB’s Icons of Impact, one significant subject that opened my eyes was; exploring beyond the horizon could enhance parts of our lives will always be necessary. There&#x27;s no such thing as knowing everything–because if we did, we wouldn&#x27;t be questioning things in our minds nor struggling in life.
