Every corner is also developed to be interchangeable, evolving with the latest trends and inspirations. While some areas remain as signature spaces that define Midnight Dream, others transform to keep up with what’s new and next, making the cloud-nine experience extend beyond our expectations!</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1749021213318midnight studio 6.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@midnightdreamph</span></span></span></div><p>In an exclusive interview with <strong>METRO</strong>, <strong>Niccolo Cosme</strong>, creative director, photographer, and owner of Midnight Dream, shares how the idea of owning a large creative space began, the challenges intertwined with it, and how his profession as a creative director played a pivotal role in building this photography empire:</p><p>“Some of the sets will have to stay for a long time—<em>parang ano lang ‘yan, e</em>, Paris, Eiffel Tower, <em>diba</em>? So, signature <em>siya</em>. But of course, we have to check. When we first acquired it, I went around and asked the photographers, ‘<em>Ano ba yung mga bumebenta?</em>’ ‘<em>Ano ba ‘yung mga</em> favorites?’ So, <em>na-identify ko ngayon–oh, </em>this one is working, this one is not working. Then we change what we need to change and update what we need to update, also.” Niccolo explained.</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1749021304499Niccolo Cosme.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">Niccolo Cosme</span></span></span><strong>Niccolo’s Vision for Midnight Dream</strong></div><p>Establishing a large space that carries your name inside the industry and brings your entire vision to life wasn’t an easy feat, especially when everything needs to be carefully planned to ensure nothing falls apart after it&#x27;s launched. With that in mind, Niccolo describes why owning something as big as this was an unexpected dream manifestation.</p><p>“[I dreamt of having a studio] not as big as this one. I had a studio before, in Malate and Makati, but they weren’t as big as this; those were actually very small. And I was already manifesting, like, ‘<em>Parang </em>ready <em>na ‘ko magka-</em>studio <em>ulit.</em>’ I was even looking at a space in my building that was ninety square meters–<em>malaki ‘yon, sabi ko</em>.&quot;</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1749021360819midnight studio 2.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@midnightdreamph</span></span></span></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1749021378299midnight studio 4.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner">@midnightdreamph</span></span></span>In addition to the power of manifestation, Niccolo elaborated how the universe seemed to call him to be ready for the blessing, diving into the triumph and challenges he faced before fully acquiring ownership of the space, “I was (really) manifesting—‘I want, I want, I want’—then <em>biglang dumating ’to</em>: one thousand square meters. So <em>ako, parang, </em>‘Wow.’ I was asked to commit within a very short period of time,<em> kasi</em> there were others who wanted it too.&quot;</div><p>At this point, Niccolo is conflicted about whether he will make the decision and seize the opportunity immediately. “That was the challenge.<em> Parang</em>, I want to share this: when you ask something from the universe and it gives it to you—sometimes even more than what you asked for—you have to be ready.<em> Hindi puwedeng ‘Ay,</em> wait <em>lang</em>’. You have to be ready. So that’s what I learned—you have to take it,” he added.</p><div><strong><br/></strong></div><div><strong>Niccolo’s Spark for Photography Entrepreneurship and Creative Mastery</strong></div><p>With the profession Niccolo has had for years, the environment mostly revolves around the creative side, and entering the business world is a different venture in his life. Regardless, Niccolo wasn’t making any comparisons between creativity and entrepreneurship, explaining that the two still share one thing in common and, if synergized, can be a strength in making the business more stable and strong:</p><p>“I think they can go hand-in-hand for sure. My expertise in business, photography, and the creative field can help. Kailangan synergistic siya; you have to mesh the two things together. In terms of balancing it, my [business] partners (<em>naman</em>) are very business-minded. When Niccolo discovered the location, it suddenly felt like a red string was attached to him. His friends even commended him, saying the place matched his creative side.</p><p>“When people found out that we acquired this place, <em>sabi nila</em> parang, ‘<em>Uy, bagay talaga ‘to sa’yo</em>.’ <em>Kasi</em>, I’m a conceptual photographer, and they feel that I match the energy of the space. Kasi parang there’s so much creativity and so many possibilities. That’s why it’s called ‘Midnight Dream.’ When you dream, aspire, imagine, or do a shoot, there are so many things you can do here.” Niccolo shared. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1749021682579midnight dream 7.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/><span class="fr-inner"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/midnightdreamph" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@midightdreamph</a></span></span></span>Apart from the creative paradise Niccolo built, his vision for elegant frames was also widely recognized, even by beauty queens. When Ariella Arida won Binibining Pilipinas 2013, her portrait shot was pure magnificence and excellence. Niccolo explains the key to achieving that iconic portrait, saying, “I guess it was just–at that moment, because she had won—<em>so parang</em> it was that moment, and I think she was probably very confident and relaxed. For Niccolo, his favorite spots must have one element: the freedom to fully convey his vision. When asked about his top spots to shoot, he delightfully explains:</p><p>“That’s (actually) a hard question because everything changes with how you light it, <em>parang</em> it transforms. I would say this one here, [where Nunoy dances,] because I think it’s a very dynamic spot. I also particularly like the Grotto, the one where we saw Ariella Arida earlier, because that’s also very dynamic. And also the nests—that’s where the two models with gold outfits were [located] earlier.
