Despite being surrounded by well-known personalities, Josh never expected people to appreciate his genuine, unfiltered self, but it was exactly that joy, honesty, and lightness that made him stand out.Josh’s motivation to join PBB was deeply personal. It was a show his family watched together back in the UK—a household tradition that grew into a dream. “One day, I’ll be there,” he had said as a kid. Years later, people began commenting on his content, “You belong in Big Brother,” when he was filming videos in the UK. As a Kapuso artist, he wasn’t sure if it would ever happen, but the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition gave him that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Their bond, both on- and off-screen, made their tandem one of the season’s most beloved. As an actor, Josh has appeared in Luv Is: Love at First Read, Hot Momma, My Guardian Angel, and Jose &amp; Maria’s Bonggang Villa. He currently plays Josh Taylor in Maka Season 2, a role close to his heart. But it was PBB that truly introduced him to a wider audience. “Before, I felt like no one knew me,” he admitted. ”Tapos paglabas ko, nakita ko ‘yung sarili ko sa mga posters. I was like, ’Wow!’ It&#x27;s so rewarding. Malungkot. Sobrang lungkot nang lumabas ako pero paglabas, nakita ko ‘yung pagmamahal na binibigay sa akin ng tao. That is one crazy thing na hindi ko talaga makalilimutan.”Adjusting to the PBB house was not easy. The 24/7 cameras, structured routines, and especially the disconnection from his family, who are based in the UK, were tough. Josh comes from a tight-knit family, so he would call them daily. Going through the show without them, especially when he was chasing his dreams for their sake, was a challenge. Even five-minute showers and strict sleep calls were part of the culture shock.Josh had never publicly shared his past—surviving a tragic accident and losing close friends and his father. But inside the house, he finally felt safe enough to open up. “It was the first time I could talk about it,” he said. In that honesty, he found healing and connection.One major source of comfort? The in-house Book Club, which Josh co-founded with AZ Martinez, Charlie Fleming, Kira Balinger, and AC Bonifacio. At first, he was not sure he would fit in. “They would read and talk, and I didn’t know if I belonged,” he said. But the club became a space of belonging, where they bonded over books, deep conversations, and game nights. “I’m thankful to have known them,” he said. As they bonded, what stood out most was how she treated everyone with care. “Pinagsamasama niya kami through her cooking,” he told Metro.Style, noting how her meals became moments of unity. She was not just the responsible Ate of the house—she became their “mom.” The label even turned into an inside joke: Josh proudly called himself her “first son,” while fellow housemate Esnyr became the “dad.”Among his most rewarding moments were task wins—especially back-to-back victories with Xyriel Manabat and Donny Pangilinan that secured the house a better budget. “Winning felt amazing because it was for the group,” he said. However, the most emotional reward came after the show: witnessing the outpouring of fan support. “It’s something I never imagined I’d experience.”Josh credits Big Brother for one of the most valuable lessons he learned inside the house: the importance of getting along well with others and being emotionally honest. “It’s okay not to be okay,” Josh emphasized. “And to be honest with how you feel kasi ang hirap pag tinatago mo sa sarili mo &#x27;yung nararamdaman mo. It&#x27;s better to just open up and, you know, be yourself para hindi ka na mahirapan.“ Opening up about his struggles, something he had rarely done before, helped him build genuine connections. As for the biggest misconception? “Misconception about me siguro &#x27;yung hindi ako masyado marunong mag-Tagalog. May sinasabi sa akin na hindi ako masyado magaling mag-acting. Mukha lang, walang talent,“ Josh opened up. “Siguro &#x27;yun &#x27;yung misconception nila rito sa akin. At madali lang &#x27;yung pinagdaanan ko. Parang sa tingin nila nakarating ako dito kasi may kakilala ako, &#x27;yung mga connection, pero hindi totoo &#x27;yun. Lahat &#x27;yun, it&#x27;s not true. Pinaghirapan ko &#x27;yung spot ko ngayon. Ako lang sa family ko &#x27;yung nandito sa industriyang ito. Kaya I did my best to be where I am now. No easy way. I worked hard for it.“Looking ahead, Josh is excited to grow, both as an actor and a person.
