Michael Sager, “Ang Diligent WonderSon ng Marinduque,” went through twists and turns on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition. Referred to as “Erwan Heussaff” by fans during his stay, Michael’s charming personality is just one of the many qualities he has as an actor. An eloquent speaker, he positions himself neatly in interviews and answers questions like a piece of cake.He lived happily in Canada with his parents, but Michael dreamt of a life far away from the land of the maple leaf, ultimately motivating him to join PBB and pursue a career in showbiz. “My story kasi with PBB, I auditioned back in 2020. It was the reason why I started in showbiz, why I had a passion developed to pursue something in the entertainment industry. And siguro, back then, it was just an audition online. But for me, when I had to livestream for the people here in the Philippines, du’n ko na-realize na gusto ko ‘to gawin forever. I want to do this for the rest of my life. Kasi nae-enjoy ko s’ya. It was crazy kasi I would [do] livestream at 3 am and end around 6 am, then go to school at 8 am. So for me, what did I have to do that, I always go back and reflect to myself na, ‘I like doing this e.’ It’s something I enjoy. I like interacting with people, whether it’s online or on the screen lang,” Michael told Metro.Style.As fate would have it, in a historic collaboration, his network, GMA, partnered with PBB&#x27;s network, ABS-CBN, paving the way for an opportunity of a lifetime to audition for the reality show. “I don&#x27;t want to live life with regrets,“ he mentioned, and so, he tried out once more, and the stars aligned to make his PBB dreams a reality.<div></div><div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1756017109966metro exclusive pbb celeb collab michael sager embed 1.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/>Michael Sager, as photographed by Dix Perez</div><div style="text-align:center"> </div>Michael’s PBB journey was not smooth sailing but one worth navigating. “If you guys watched PBB, I was nominated three times consecutively. But for me, kasi, to be that ball of sunshine, I already knew that it was going to be a target. I mean, [I’m] not gonna be everybody&#x27;s cup of tea. Not everybody will like me, not everybody will appreciate it. And I understood that. But going inside that house, as soon as I stepped on the garden area, sabi ko, ‘I&#x27;m gonna be me.’ And the people who watched the first few episodes, my friends—si Michael talaga ‘yun: makulit, maingay, hyper, minsan ‘di mapakali. And I just wanted to be real,” he reflected, showing his most genuine self before the eviction night.How he stayed true to himself was what the audience adored about him in the show. It helped him establish a deeper connection to the housemates, allowing his core identity to be visible to the public. Understanding this aspect helped Michael regain the public trust.“And I told myself, I played characters na before this. I wanted to be myself in this show and enjoy my time there. And honestly, with that mindset, it helped me to just enjoy. Because my whole stay, my 48 days there, it felt like a surreal moment na ang saya lang. Although there were moments na emotional ako, mabigat siya. Pero all throughout, nag-enjoy lang talaga ako. And I wanted to share that positivity that I had being in there with my fellow housemates, with the people watching, to just promote positivity. Because at the end of the day, ang dami ng problema sa mundo. Let’s just help one another and smile,” he elaborated.Michael learned many lessons from Big Brother. One that stood out to him happened on his last day in the house, when they were punished. “Binigyan niya kami ng sariling mundo,&quot; he recalled. They needed to go around the house and clean up. “We had to move together. But the significance of that task was that it doesn’t only affect you, it affects everybody around you in your world,” Michael expressed. He related that realization to his connotation of a domino effect, saying, “For me, kasi, if you translate that into being an artista, [or] to being an actor. We’re on a platform, we’re in a place where the kids and youth are watching. The stuff that you do will impact other people. And if you’re spreading hate, you’re spreading negativity, [there will be] a domino effect. So na-realize ko na I have to be careful. Hindi lang talaga reality na parang ‘I could be careless,’ no. We’re also here to be empowering. And we were given a platform na &#x27;wag natin sayangin. Fans love their energy, dynamics, and how they have the same wavelength, complementing each other in everything that they do. Michael commented on their unique MiLi energy, saying, “I think that&#x27;s what set our chemistry right, that was like, ‘Hey man, we&#x27;re here for a goal, whether we win this or not, we&#x27;re here for one another.’ We wanted to do our best. We wanted to give it our best shot, and I think that was what was important.”Gifted with a silver tongue, Michael is ready to thrive in the outside world by opening his door to hosting. “After PBB, from reality [show], honestly, what I realized in the house is I really love to host, and I really hope I get an opportunity to host. Kasi madaldal talaga ako, I know. But, like having fun on stage, and kung ano man ‘yan. So, sana I get the chance to have a show where I can host.” Michael, while exploring new avenues in the entertainment industry, hasn’t strayed from his original passion, acting. It remains his top priority, saying, “And of course, acting is still number one for me. Before I entered, I came from Shining Inheritance and My Ilonggo Girl, so hopefully this year, makabalik ako sa TV. And I can go back to TV and maka-set foot on the big screen—it&#x27;s gonna be exciting for me, sana matuloy ‘yon. Lots of exciting things are in the works, and I&#x27;m just here to be better every day. I&#x27;m back, like, after PBB, back to my mindset that we&#x27;re still here for that goal, as an actor, as a leading man,” he shared with excitement and optimism.He wants to work on movies like Barcelona and She&#x27;s Dating the Gangster. As for his dream role, Michael mentioned one in a genre that combines drama and action: Vincenzo (which Korean actor Song Joong Ki played). “His action is mala-James Bond. Laging naka-suit pero maangas pa rin.“ Excited for all the things ahead for his career, Michael also shared a project in mind that he thinks would suit him and Emilio: “I told him, ’Dude, you know, maganda tayong love triangle.’ Me and him going after a girl? Feeling ko masaya ‘yon e. Or kontrabida niya. I wanna be his kontrabida, like ‘yung talagang bangayan kasi magaling siya umarte. I wanna set foot on set with him, or, siguro best friends.
