Jaya Shares the Young Artists She Wants to Collaborate With

Just like many of us, even seasoned artists like Jaya have their own favorite musicians they tune into. And for the Philippines’ “Queen of Soul,” the rising stars of today’s OPM scene have captured her attention.In an interview ahead of her “Jaya All Hits” concert on September 14, 2025 at the New Frontier Theater, Jaya revealed she’s been listening to several young OPM artists.The veteran singer admitted that while she may not be familiar with all their names, she’s impressed by the surge of fresh and beautiful music coming from this new generation. Among those she mentioned are Dionela, IV of Spades, SB19, and Maymay Entrata.“So sa ngayon, ‘yung Dionela, ‘di ba? Si Maymay din, kasi hindi ko akalain na gumaganyan siya, ‘di ba? Ang wide ng range.”Recognizing the talent and musicality of rising artists, Jaya also expressed admiration for how well-prepared they are—particularly when it comes to live concerts and big stages—jokingly adding that she’s the one who needs advice from them.“Alam mo, bilib ako sa mga bagong artists, sa mga groups. I can see that before entering the field, before entering the den, handa na sila. Naka-prepare bago sila isalang,” she continued.When asked for advice she could offer to these rising stars, Jaya kept it simple yet meaningful: “Enjoy the moment. Be kind to one another.”“And then also give respect to those who came along before you. ‘Yung pagbati… So ‘yun lang, have faith, enjoy, have a grateful heart, be kind to one another, and be professional. Isa pa ‘yan, do not be late. ‘Pag late ka, dapat may explanation ka,” she concluded.After four years of living abroad, Jaya is finally making her long-awaited return to the local music scene. She is set to reunite with her Filipino fans in a grand homecoming concert titled “Jaya All Hits,” happening on September 14, 2025, at the New Frontier Theater.
