<p>Known as one of the OG beauty queens in the local scene, <strong>Priscilla Meirelles</strong> is a Brazilian model, host, actress, and environmentalist who won Miss Earth 2004 when it was held in the Philippines. The 41-year-old has always been an icon of beauty and an ideal body—given those perfect curves, anyone would want to consider #goals! </p><p>Being a mom to a beautiful young daughter, Priscilla now juggles a lot of roles in life, but that doesn&#x27;t stop her from creating the life and body of her dreams—one that&#x27;s in its best shape yet! I’m excited to be back hosting events both in the Philippines and internationally, and I’m slowly getting back into acting as well—all while juggling mom life!</p><p>Traveling is my passion, and I’ve been getting into working out lately. That’s my secret to staying fit, along with a healthy diet and lifestyle. That&#x27;s also how I lost 40 pounds in five months. I don’t count calories; instead, I focus on the quality of my food. I try to stick to healthy, natural options—if it comes straight from the earth and isn’t processed, it&#x27;s on my plate! How did you get into all these? Have you always been into fitness?</strong></div><p><strong>PM: </strong>Lately, I’ve been hitting the gym again for about nine months now, and it feels fantastic to be lifting weights and building my strength! Every day is a new adventure thanks to my amazing coach, Jay Garcia @coachjaywellness. He has a knack for tailoring my workouts to help me reach my goals and keep me on track.</p><p>To kick off my weightlifting sessions, I always do some planks—they&#x27;re my little secret weapon! I make sure to squeeze them in every single day, no matter what else is happening. They make such a difference! Fitness has always been a big part of my life, especially since I grew up trying out all sorts of sports and with my beauty pageant background. I really got into weightlifting last year when I realized that workouts for women over 40 have their own unique twist to be effective.</p><p>Right now, I’m focusing on building lean muscle while also prioritizing longevity and endurance because I want to enjoy life and stay active as I age. It’s all about staying mobile and thriving! This journey has been such a fun and rewarding experience!</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750148744473downloadgram.org_483949618_18491247070041874_4606963619614240743_n.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/></div><div><strong><br/></strong></div><div><strong>MS: How long have you been doing them, and what are some challenges you&#x27;ve faced?</strong></div><p><strong>PM: </strong>I&#x27;ve been into sports and hitting the gym since I was 17! Back in the day, my workouts were mostly cardio with a bit of weightlifting. Now, though, about 90% of my routine is all about lifting weights! I’ve definitely proven to myself that the myth about women getting bulky from lifting is just that—a myth. The biggest challenge I face is finding time in my schedule. Sometimes, that means hitting the gym at the hotel or even at 11 PM! But I believe that if there’s a will, there’s always a way to stay consistent.   </p><div> </div><div><strong>MS: Describe a day in your life, and how you manage to squeeze in time for a workout.</strong></div><p><strong>PM: </strong>A typical day in my life when I’m in Manila starts bright and early at 6:20 AM. I get my daughter ready and drop her off at school by 7:30 AM. Right after that, I hit the gym for about two hours to get my workout in. After the gym, I often dive into some vlogging or podcasting, or run some errands, and if I can fit it in, I attend a business meeting too!</p><p>In the afternoon, I pick my daughter up from school and take her home, then it’s back to either another shoot or a meeting, depending on what’s on the schedule for the day. I usually wrap up my day around 9 or 10 PM, and I love the hustle and bustle of it all!</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750148943470downloadgram.org_504591339_18509241202041874_1174015214608390145_n.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>MS: What about your diet? Do you follow a strict regimen, and how does it supplement your activities?</strong></div><p><strong>PM: </strong>I don’t focus on counting calories, and I definitely don’t skip meals! I just choose whole foods that aren’t processed, and I like to call this my “Priscilla’s Diet” or “Earth&#x27;s Diet.” The way the food is cooked also plays a huge part, so NO to fried foods. Even though I might tweak it a bit now and then, I always stick to the same delicious breakfast every day: eggs, sweet potato, a serving of fruit, and some ginger tea (or any other caffeine-free tea I’m in the mood for). Breakfast is such an important meal, and having a healthy one really helps me stay productive throughout the day! </p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750149142402downloadgram.org_488602546_18496531705041874_4180563450274731284_n.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>MS: How do you treat yourself?</strong></div><p><strong>PM: </strong>I absolutely love traveling! There&#x27;s nothing quite like exploring new places and making memories. I also enjoy catching up with friends over a meal—it&#x27;s one of my favorite ways to treat myself. And let’s not forget about retail therapy! When I’m feeling a bit down, a little shopping spree does wonders for my mood. I wouldn’t say I’m a big spender, but after a few hours and a couple of shopping or grocery bags in tow, I always feel more like myself again. There’s really no such thing as “I don’t have time” for this or that! We all have control over our time and what we prioritize! I can’t even count how many times I’ve squeezed in a workout right in my bedroom or a hotel room, just using my body weight while my daughter Anechka enjoyed some downtime in her PJs, either watching TV or drawing. It really shows that you can always find time for fitness, no matter how hectic life gets!</p><p>I get it—getting started can be tricky, and staying consistent is often the toughest part. But here’s my little tip: just showing up, even if it’s only for 10 minutes, can make a world of difference! Seriously, showing up is one of the best gifts you can give yourself! And once you’re in that groove, those 10 minutes often turn into even more.
