Electric Studio 10th Anniv BGC

<p>First, it was the sprints. Then came the slips. Now, <strong>Electric Studio</strong> is coming in with the shakes and a brand new studio. </p><p>Though the general public has grown increasingly interested in health and wellness, the commitment to the boutique fitness lifestyle often waxes and wanes. It’s not that hard to pinpoint why because people’s circumstances and preferences are ever-changing. Some sign up for a first-timer&#x27;s package and decide it’s not for them after they use up their final credit. Others become fans of a certain workout but eventually find new fitness routines to love along the way. For one reason or another, people come and go. In the midst of it all, Electric Studio—solid, steadfast, strategic—remains a force, bolstered by its loyal community and the team that has worked tirelessly to build and shape it into what it is today. </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750733701158ElectricNewMerchQ4182.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/></div><div> </div><p>“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, the launch of <strong>Electric Core Reformer </strong>marks a pivotal moment in our Electric journey,” says <strong>Kris Sy</strong>, the<strong> co-founder </strong>and <strong>CEO of Electric Studio</strong>. “We’ve always wanted a third modality to complete Electric’s trifecta of rhythm-based, transformative, and empowering full-body workouts. With Core Reformer, we now have a workout that complements our indoor cycling and rhythm boxing modalities.” </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/wellness/fitness/fitspiration-electric-studio-co-founder-kristina-s/35592" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">READ: Fitspiration: Electric Studio Co-Founder Kristina Sy</a></div><div><br/></div><p>Core Reformer is a pilates-inspired, low-impact exercise that targets your slow-twitch muscle fibers through slow, controlled movements under continuous tension on a reformer machine. By achieving muscle failure, the exercise causes micro tears in muscle fibers that adapt and strengthen during rest and recovery. There is currently one type of class: the <strong>signature 50-minute Pure Sculpt</strong>.  </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750733786431ELECTRICCORE-038.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><p>“Even if there are a lot of pilates studios opening up, we wanted to create something completely new,” adds Kris. “Core Reformer is the country’s first ever reformer class that’s done to the beat of the music, which is signature to Electric’s DNA. The workout focuses on upper body, core, and lower body strength and muscle endurance, while still delivering a high-energy, addictive, and transformative fitness experience.” </p><p>The East Gallery Place studio is a brick-and-mortar symbol of what Electric Studio is and what it is aiming to be. It is spacious and sleek, and has a modern, global feel to it in terms of design. My favourite part is what I’ve started referring to in my head as The Warp Zone: a liminal, runway-esque hallway that separates the Core Reformer space from the rest of the studio. The studio name hangs above you like a light fixture as you either strut or hobble—trust me, it happens—to and from your workouts, and the purple holo laminate that I’ve learned to associate with Electric Studio. The bathrooms are great, too; they are one-person-only private spaces this time, which makes the post-workout shower extra calming. </p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750733833234BUTTS BOXING.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-rounded"/></div><div><br/></div><p>This new branch is wholly dedicated to servicing the Core Reformer and <strong>Rhythm Boxing</strong> classes. Core Reformer workouts take place in an intimate space that houses 12 beds. Rhythm Boxing, once a Podium (branch)-only modality, is now more accessible to those who frequent the BGC area. The boxing room is bigger as well and can accommodate 30 fighters per class. </p><p>“At Electric, our job is to constantly innovate and find ways to inspire and motivate our community,” says Kris. “Our clients crave a variety in their workout routine but still want that same energetic music and community-focused vibe that Electric Studio is known for. With Electric Core Reformer and Rhythm Boxing added to the mix, we’re able to provide cardio, strength building, and resistance training all under the Electric Studio umbrella, making cross-training with your favorite Electric instructors easy. If on a Monday you feel like sweating buckets with a cardio class, we have Indoor Cycling for you. But if the next day you want something low-impact, we have the Core Reformer for you. If on Wednesday you want to lift heavy weights and do some boxing drills, we have Rhythm Boxing for you.
