MyDiamond Ambassadress Bea Alonzo on Finding Her Calm, Her Style, and Her Sparkle This Holiday Season

<p>After over two decades in the limelight, <strong>Bea Alonzo </strong>might just be penning her most luminous chapter yet: that of a woman in control of her calm and breathing space. Out of the public eye, the award-winning actress is learning to love the pause, truly savoring life in the slow lane, and doing so on her own terms. </p><p>“I just realized I&#x27;ve been in the (show) business for almost 25 years—February of next year, to be exact. And I haven’t really given time for myself and that freedom,” confessed Bea, who’s now all about prioritizing her personal life and business ventures.</p><p>Now, as the A-list star turns a year older this October (on the 17th to be exact), Bea is embracing this newfound quietude as one of life’s greatest gifts: “I think I owe it to myself because I&#x27;m turning 38 <em>na</em> this month. So, <em>parang hiling ko</em>, I also need to give it to myself to be able to have that small freedom to choose what I want to do next month and not have to ask anybody for permission.”</p><p>With her birthday just a week away, the actress admitted she’s keeping things plain and simple, not stressing over any plotted plans. “<em>Sa totoo lang</em>, as you get older, you lose all the plans for your birthday. <em>Wala pa akong plano... </em>I<em></em> don&#x27;t know yet, but I prefer to really just celebrate with my closest friends and my family,” Bea shared.</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1760055609220bea alonzo for mydiamond.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div style="text-align:left"><br/></div><div style="text-align:left"><br/></div><div style="text-align:left"><strong>Attracting positivity</strong></div><p>As for what she sets her hopes on: “My wish for myself is to just enjoy everything. I&#x27;m very grateful for everything that I have right now. You know, <em>ang</em><u></u> life <em>kasi</em> full of ups and downs. I just really want to be able to enjoy this calm and enjoy this point in my life.”</p><p>She continued, “I&#x27;m not being negative that there will be storms, but that&#x27;s life. I feel like we just have to really enjoy each moment, may it be the hard times or the good times, because either way, it will teach you something.” Breaking the silence in the room, Bea laughingly ended it with “<em>Ang dami kong sinabi</em>!”</p><p>Asked if love has something to do with that newfound calm, she flashed a smile that spoke volumes more than words ever could. “Oh, yes. One hundred percent,” Bea responded candidly. But ever self-aware, she was quick to acknowledge her own growth, adding, “I also have to give credit to myself. I really worked hard to be here, to be where I am mentally. He came at the right time, when I was already doing the work.”</p><p>While Bea has reached a state of greater ease in her romantic life, she believes that self-love strengthens the ability to love others.</p><p>“I feel like the most important thing [is] not to look for anybody to complete you. It’s really important to work on yourself, and then you’ll attract someone who will complement your life. In her recent sit-down, the Generation’s Movie Queen also spoke of stones and sentiments, fashion and family, and investing in jewelry that can be treasured for a lifetime. </p><p>Mastering the art of knowing what works for her, Bea’s fashion philosophy fuses classic silhouettes with a touch of boldness—much like her being. When prodded about how she styles her favorite gems from the new MyDiamond holiday collection, she revealed her fashion instincts.</p><p>“It really depends, like if I&#x27;m wearing a ruby colored stone, I would wear it with something sexier—perhaps like a black dress. If it&#x27;s sapphire, I&#x27;d love to pair it with a white jumpsuit, perhaps, or pantsuit. Second of all, when thinking about something to invest in, especially for first-timers, just make sure that the color of the diamond is good and that it will last you a lifetime, so it’s something that you can pass down from one generation to the next.”</p><p>Her fascination with jewelry runs deeper than surface shine. In her words, jewelry is both an investment and a fashion statement, something that will make one feel good and sparkle, stating, “For me, it’s not fast fashion. And <em>ako</em>, <em>mas</em> traditional <em>ako</em>. I like investing in jewelry. That&#x27;s what my mom taught me ever since I was born.”</p><p>She further recalled one of her most treasured memories involving jewelry: “When I was 26 or 27, there was this one holiday <em>na nag</em>-decide <em>kami ni </em>Mama to actually purchase a pair of earrings at the same time, and matchy-matchy <em>siya</em>. These are like round diamond earrings. So, for me, it&#x27;s special because you know, <em>parang</em> twinning <em>kami ni </em>Mom.”</p><p>While laying out recommendations for the perfect seasonal gift can be quite a brain-bender, especially with everyone’s unique quirks, Bea has one: “I feel like when it comes to girls, you can never go wrong with diamonds.”</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1760056068363bea alonzo for mydiamond 2.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><div>[[PHOTO ALBUM]]</div><div><br/></div><p>While laying out recommendations for the perfect seasonal gift can be quite a brain-bender, especially with everyone’s unique quirks, Bea has one: “I feel like when it comes to girls, you can never go wrong with diamonds.”</p><p>The conversation soon drifted to how she styles herself during the holiday season: mirroring the festive spirit with sophistication yet sparkling. </p><p>“I usually bring out my red dresses for the holidays just because it’s the color of the season. Also, I like wearing sparkly dresses or sequined dresses. When it comes to styling, it depends on where I&#x27;m going and what the event is. So if it&#x27;s casual, I could wear something sparkly as a top, and then I could pair it with denim jeans. Or if it&#x27;s really a dress-up occasion, I would wear a red dress that&#x27;s a bit sexy, that would show a little skin,” explained Bea.</p><p>All the while, Bea has acquired her fair share of stunning pieces over the years, and a media question was raised whether there’s still a diamond piece she dreams of buying or receiving. Bea laughed it off, “<em>Kung ano man ‘yung </em>dream<em> na ‘yun</em>, <em>s’yempre ayokong bilhin</em>. <em>Gusto ko na lang ibigay</em>.” </p><p>In terms of what diamond piece would symbolize this next chapter of her life, the face of the brand didn’t miss a beat: “A tennis diamond bracelet because I love diamonds as well as I love rose gold, and it&#x27;s something classic that I could wear every day. It&#x27;s something that I could pass down one day, and I think it would represent love and create something lasting.”</p><p>Apart from diamonds, what she considers worthy as a good subject for heirlooms is a tweed jacket. “I feel like it&#x27;s timeless, like a good Chanel jacket would be a nice heirloom,” she said.</p><div><br/></div><p>Photos courtesy <strong>MyDiamond</strong></p>
