Kim Chiu Reflects on 20 Years in Showbiz

<p>Twenty years ago, a young girl from Cebu entered showbiz with big dreams and even bigger prayers. Today, <strong>Kim Chiu</strong> celebrates two decades in the industry, looking back with gratitude at a journey that transformed many of those once-impossible dreams into reality.</p><p>In a heartfelt message marking her 20th anniversary, Kim thanked the people who helped shape her journey—from her loyal supporters and ABS-CBN family to the brands that believed in her. Every Sunday, my mom would bring me to church—either at the Sto. Niño Church or Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Most of the time, it was just the two of us. She would always tell me: &#x27;Istoryaa ang Ginoo. Ingna Siya unsa imong ganahan&#x27; [Talk to the Lord. Tell Him what you like].</p><p>&quot;So I did. I prayed for good grades. I prayed for someone to help send us to school. I prayed for a house we could finally call our own. I prayed that one day we’d never have to keep asking for help. I prayed that I would have enough so I could help my family. </p><div>&quot;Back then, some of those prayers felt impossible. And yet, years later, here I am. In her latest interview with <strong>Metro.Style</strong>, Kim looked back on how far she&#x27;s come, saying, &quot;After 20 years, I’m still here,&quot; Kim reflected, pausing momentarily to let that sink in. “Actually, looking back, <em>parang grabe</em>, unbelievable! 20 years? 20 years of hard work, 20 years of bashings, 20 years of lovings, 20 years of... Like, <em>hindi ka lang talaga susuko</em>.”</p><p>Despite having a long list of projects and achievements, there is still no stopping Kim from doing more. Following her hit series <em><strong>The Alibi </strong></em>with Paulo Avelino, she&#x27;s also set to star with him in the series <em><strong>KoPino</strong></em>. On top of these, she also maintains her hosting stints, performances on shows, and entrepreneurial endeavors. </p><div><em></em><em></em><em></em></div><p>Through the years, Kim said, &quot;’<em>Yung</em> motto<em> ko lang</em> is never give up. <em>Parang</em>, there’s always something good after every bad.&quot;</p><p>There&#x27;s sunshine after the rain, and during her latest METRO cover shoot, Kim soaked up the sun. Vlogging about the experience, Kim said it still feels surreal for her to grace magazine covers, whether print or digital.
